Crazy is as Crazy does!!!

Am really tired tonight. Two days on the road, drove a little over 500 miles, wears this old girl out. Got to the apartment and the boys and I went out to eat. There's this sub shop downtown called Pickleman's. They have the best subs around. Josh loved it and it is Brandon's favorite. Not bad but you know what I'm going to complain about. Carbs!!! Was in Jefferson City today and ate at Rio's. I have another favorite besides the fried chicken, their hamburger pizza is to die for. I don't know what it is about it but it is the best. It is now my favorite. My friend Penny told me about it and I had already stumbled across it. Yummy, yum, yum.

When we were heading home from Pickleman's there is a huge, beautiful full moon out. I guess tomorrow night is suppose to be the blue moon. Some pretty crazy stuff has been happening and I haven't been surprised with all that is happening right now. Crazy is as crazy does.

Going to head off here. Was going to write a lot more earlier and got side tracked with two boys in the house. They keep you laughing and entertained. Everything from blowing up an air mattress to speaking Mandarin while skipping in the house. They are watching some funny movie right now. Anyway, I am getting off here. I will talk to you tomorrow, hopefully.

E.D.'s are not my friends!!

Was in Rolla today at the County Health Department. It is a nice Health Department and today was WIC day, there were lots of babies. So many fat, healthy and happy babies. Because of programs like this, along with immunizations, planned parenthood, STD testing and treating, our country would be in a worse shape then what it is in now. The nurses at the health department go to the homes and make sure that TB meds are taken by the clients. They interview when there is an outbreak of E Coli, Salmonella and any other communicable disease. When there is a Meth Lab explosion, someone goes out and investigates those to make sure the clean up is done correctly, they report to the truck wrecks where there is food that has been damaged. The list goes on and on. I can't even begin to name everything that they do. These people are the true foot soldiers for the communities and that is where the funding is being cut, they are the ones that are hurt the worse. When are we going to realize the importance of these entities? People, you need to become involved in your communities and find out what is going on in these businesses. We need the Local Public Health Departments like you wouldn't believe.

My day was good though. We got a lot accomplished at our meeting and will meet again next month. Hopefully we are about done but who knows what is in store. Things change like you wouldn't believe but it isn't any different than any other job.

Tomorrow it is off to Jefferson City. I will be back in the office on Friday which is good because I got hit pretty hard yesterday with work. 4 new HIV cases, two in their early 60's and one in his early 70's. Other one is in his 20's. Can we say, "Love erectile dysfunction drugs!!" NOT!!!

Well, getting off here. Think I will do some reading once I am off. Haven't done that this week, just went straight to bed. I was so tired last night. Got a good nights sleep though and woke up feeling pretty good. I will talk with you guys more tomorrow. My Josh and Brandon are going to be down here. Then Terry later with Lamar. Can't wait!!! Good night.

Some things to ponder.

Been thinking today. I think I will make me out a "Bucket List". Things I've wanted to do and never have. This should be interesting. What brought this on you ask??? I was looking at Facebook tonight and there was a post about the Missouri Botanical Garden's in St. Louis. I was like, I've always wanted to go to that and have always wanted to go to Powell Garden's which isn't far from where I live. Then I was like, why don't you make out a Bucket List and write down everything you want to do and have never done. Alrighty then, I will.

I came home tonight so tired I just sat down in my chair, ate a can of beanie weenie's and an oatmeal pie from Little Debbie. Never turned on the TV or anything. I probably will at 9:30 to hear the weather but will turn it off after that. I had a rough day and don't really want to hear negative stuff. Hurricane is coming into the Gulf though sounds like from last nights cast. We sure need the rain and sounds like it is going to get here in Springfield area around Friday. Hmm. Will put a damper on Labor Day weekend plans but that's okay too. We need the rain!!! Bring it on!!!

Today, when I got in my car after telling a young man he was HIV+ and he cried, I was was like how in the world can people say what they say about this population??? God does not hate these people and it is Satan making them spill these words out. I was so mad, not at God but at the people, and told God that I cannot believe He will ever turn his back on these people, as long as they allow Him to be in their hearts. He takes the bad and terrible things in our world and turns them into beautiful positive things. Must be why I am here on this earth because I will always have compassion for people. No matter what life has put them through. God is good.

Well, with that little tid bit said, I think I will close this out. I have a long next couple of days down here. Have to be in Rolla tomorrow and Jefferson City the following day. Talk to you guys tomorrow night, hopefully.

How Sweet it is

Okay, I am going to have to get me a tape recorder or something because through out the day I am like, I'm going to write that in my blog and then when I sit here to write, can I think what the heck it was or have the passion I had at the time. Not no but heck no. Oh well, going to have to wing it the best I can until I get the recorder or whatever.

Day went fairly well, after last night anyway. Josh called me and he hit a cow. He was coming home and didn't see the cow on a gravel road and hit it. Josh is okay, truck not so much. I was thankful that Josh was okay, he hadn't been drinking, he was legal with insurance and truck tags and he wasn't speeding. Of course the cow isn't doing so good. They had to shoot her. I tell everyone that Josh had a wreck with one fatality, the cow. Just waiting on the police report and the people to get the insurance stuff going on. Everything is a deal. Told Josh if it wasn't for bad luck he'd have no luck at all.

As I was coming down here I plugged in Pandora Radio again and put in Carole King radio. Excellent music. My era, my genre and my music. There are a lot of good stations and depending on the mood I am in is what I listen to.

Getting ready for the family Vacay. Getting a schedule planned out, it should all be good. So nervous about Brandon leaving and will be glad when it happens so we can just wait for him to get home. Will have to plan a fantastic family Vacay when he gets back. Love those annual events. Guess we are always going to have to make them the same time because seems like they are always at the same time. Even though this is only our second one.

You know when I am coming down to Springfield I go through towns with so many memories. I have either lived in, worked in, celebrated something in, or attended events in. When I go through them the memories flood and sometimes I wish they wouldn't. Sometimes they are not such good memories and then other times they are. Oh well. It is what it is. I mean Garden City, Creighton, Urich, Harper, Clinton, Deepwater, Chloe, Lowry City, Osceola, Vista, Gerster, Collins, Humansville, Bolivar. All those towns have memories. When you have lived in the area all your life and grew up in most of the area and had an eventful life as I have, there ya go.

Put on your calendars and try to attend. Lowry City is having their second annual Music on Mainstreet event. It should be great. Lots of music from 10am-10pm. Bluegrass, Country, and anything else you can think of and it's all free. Just bring a lawn chair. Lots of food booths too. I plan to be there, it's on September 15. I didn't go last year and regret it. Like I said, it should be fun.

Talk to you guys tomorrow. Remember, no matter what I love ya all!!!

Getting Closer

Started the day out going to church. Talked to them about Sunday school and the preacher is starting a 4 week series about the church after Labor Day. I am going to go to those classes and then in October the women's group is starting a new study. Excited about all that. I forgot to make sure that the classes that the preacher is doing is on Sunday's because I won't be able to do them. It will all work, always does.

We had a good rain down around here today and yesterday. Not sure how much we had but was down at Lowry today and my cousin said they've gotten around 1-1/2". Terry said we haven't gotten that much here, maybe 1/2". It has been nice getting some showers though. The hurricane that is hitting the Florida Keys right now may come up the Gulf Coast and we usually get the rains from that. Hope, hope, hope. They say they've closed down part of the Mississippi because it is low that the barges can't make it down. Something like a 50 mile stretch. That's something else.

Josh and I took a road trip today to Lowry City and saw a cousin of ours. It was fun, I really like George and Linda Lysinger. Good people. Linda always has lots of plants and grows a beautiful garden. She had one plant I had never seen before. I asked her what kind it was and she said Candlestick. It was so pretty. She is going to get me a start going. Can't wait, love my plants.

Josh and I came home and then Terry and I ran out to Wal-Mart to pick up a bed set for the day bed in the middle bedroom. Brandon will be home sometime this week so he can see his mom before he leaves for China. Then we will go on a little family Vacay as Josh and him call it. LOL.

Going to sign off here. My day was good, still feel funny but all is good. I will talk to you guys later.

Saturday, August 25, 2012

Started the day out going to Lee's Summit and going door to door asking if they were registered to vote at their current residence and if not did they want to register. It was fun, at first we both were like, ohhhh we don't want to do this. We had a low income housing unit to work. There were like 10 apartment buildings with 8 apartments in each unit. It was mostly single moms, college students, double working families that probably make minimum wage income with a family. Terry was able to sign up three and I signed up one. One apartment I went to I asked the lady if she was registered to vote and she said yes. As she was shutting the door the little girl goes "No your not mama!!!" I had to laugh, the little girl probably got in trouble once mama closed the door.

We've gotten some rain but the ground isn't even wet so that tells you how much. I so wish we would get some. Like I've said before, if it would just be a slow steady rain for about 4 days. The fires are bad around here because of the dryness. I hate it.

Don't know if it is just me but lately when I start writing in this blog I start nodding off. As bad as when I try to stay up to see the 10pm news. LOL

It was totally Outstanding!!!

Just got back from Garden City MO and ate at Old Cedar Inn. All the fried chicken you can eat, choice of potato, vegetable, salad bar, dessert bar for $8.75 and let me tell you, it was delicious. They make the best fried chicken around. Only one place that I like better and that is Ria's in Jefferson City. Ria's is more your pan fried chicken to where Old Cedar, they have a special fryer that fries the chicken. Their chicken strips are good too.

Anyway, they had bread pudding along with the ice cream machine where you can make a ice cream sundae if you want. The bread pudding was to die for. The best I've had. I really am a bread pudding connoisseur along with custard pie. I love both of them and haven't been able to find any as good as Dimple Snyder's. She lived across the creek from us when I was a little girl and her custard pie's were to die for!!!

Needless to say, I blew it on my carb's today. Did good until I got to Rich Hill MO. I was coming home and had to go to the restroom. A friend/co-worker had told me about a mom and pop dairy queen in Rich Hill called Swopes Drive-In that has the best Suzy Q's and milk shakes. Needed to go to the restroom and figured it would be nice and clean there and it was. Well, you don't go to the restroom somewhere and not buy something so I bought a small Raspberry Shake. Oh my gosh, it was to die for too. Excellent, outstanding and all those other powerful words!!! Told Terry that we need to go sometime down there on one of our rides.

Woke up this morning with a big honking cold sore in my life, smack dab in the middle of my upper lip, right under my nose. I haven't had one for quite sometime and really hadn't missed the inconvenience of it, let alone the soreness it creates. Oh well, could be worse. Could be the other Herpes Simplex. Glad I don't have that one, this one is bad enough.

Trying to stay positive and not let the news media bum me out and also try not to get wound up within their drama. It can over take you if you let it and I'm not going to let it. Between the Civil War over in Syria and the execution of the medical personal that are trying to help the injured or Akins dumb ass remarks. I will stay educated on all of it but that is all. Anyway, I'm signing off. Hoping we get the rain that the weather men are talking about for tomorrow. They say 100% chance but not where or how much. We'll see. Talk to you guys tomorrow.

It's a Wierd One!!!

Some days it is hard to figure out what I am going to write about. There is a lot of things I would like to but can't. Work was different. It was good but different. Hard to explain. A young woman that gave blood is HIV+, trying to get a case closed out from these dweebs that lie to me about their partners, what's the point??? I'm not going to hurt anyone and it takes me longer to find out that these rockets have lied then if they'd just play dumb and say they don't know the names of any of their partners. Then I got in touch with this one guy and am running to Joplin tomorrow to do an interview with him. Got another new case initiated to me today. Lots of things going on and lots of cases. I don't know, I just have felt weird this week. Not sure if it was because of Ben's death, or because I get tired doing what I am doing. It may be that my shoulders and neck ache and I need to go back to chiropractor or if it is just the fact I need to move in a couple of months and I hate moving. I don't know what's going on. I think I need a real vacation and it is going to come around in October but I don't know if I will be able to make it or not. :o)

It could be that Brandon is getting ready to leave in two weeks and I am really going to miss him. He is in his room right now listening to music and getting ready for a weekend at the lake with friends. I am glad to see both him and Josh happy. Josh is very happy right now and so is Brandon. Terry and I are fretting our little heads off but oh well. Life of a parent.

Did my regular exercise routine today. Walked up the steps. I'm thinking I'm about ready to add another flight and make it 6. I am going to wait until after the first of the month. I will ride my bike once I am home and get that strength up.

Well, heading outta here. Talk to you tomorrow night, maybe I'll be in better spirits.

Just Do It.

Stay loose. Learn to watch snails. Plant impossible gardens. Invite someone dangerous to tea. Make little signs that say “yes” and paste them all over your house. Make friends with freedom and uncertainty. Look forward to dreams. Cry during movies. Swing as high as you can on a swingset by moonlight. Cultivate moods. Refuse to be responsible. Do it for love. Take lots of naps. Give money away Do it now, the money will follow Believe in magic. Laugh a lot. Celebrate every gorgeous moment. Take moonbaths. Have wild imaginings, transformative dreams and perfect calm. Draw on the walls. Read everyday. Imagine yourself magic. Giggle with children. Listen to old people. Open up. Dive in. Be free. Bless yourself. Drive away fear. Play with everything. Entertain your inner child. You are innocent. Build a fort with blankets. Get wet. Hug trees. Write love letters.

Laugh at yourself!!!

Please don't forget that there are American soldiers still at war and still dying. A war that is almost 12 years old now. A direct quote from a good good friend of mine, Pat Pennay who has two children currently in the Army!!!

I beg ya darlin' please.

Just got home from the family night for Ben. He touched so many people in his life here and some he probably never knew he touched. As Kay and I were riding back we talked a little bit about that and we have no idea how many people we touch through our lives or how many people we have changed their lives. Kay is in a position in her job that she has changed so many people. Helped them get back on their feet once life has knocked them down. You never know when your time is up so make your life important. Build people up, don't tear them down. Make a difference in someone's life, because believe me when I say it will make a difference in yours.

Today has been a stressful, sad day for me but it's all good. I have so many blessings to bestow upon that the rest doesn't really matter. I am going to sleep good tonight and wake up in the morning and it will be a new day. Saw some people today that I hadn't seen forever. That is always nice. Saw some I've seen lately and that is always nice too. Family and friends are so important in this world today.

I'm heading outta here. Getting tired and all. Will write again tomorrow. Been reading a book and really am enjoying it. "Winter's Bone" I've read two books this year so far. May make it to three. You know, I don't think I finished the first one. Dang it. Going to have to find it and finish it. Checked it out at the library. Hmmm. Anyway, going to bed. Good night.

Monday, August 20, 2012

Good Night

They are back and I'm not enjoying them at all. My allergies. Took some tonight and now I am so tired. Tomorrow is going to be a long day but it will be okay. Going to make it a short night tonight though.

Watching Mike and Molly tonight. That show cracks me up, I've seen most of it but not this one tonight. It's when they are rehearsing for the wedding and Molly's mom finds out that Vince is married. This show cracks me up so much!!!

Nothing happened today. stayed home and did nothing. just snorted and sniffed. LOL. Going to bed. talk more tomorrow maybe. It's going to be a late night so might not right until Wednesday night.

What about now?

Today was a good day but then again a sad day. It was a good day because it started out with an outstanding message at church. We are learning from the book of Ephesians and today's passages was thru 5:15-20. Very, very good message, "Who is God and what is He doing in your Life right now? God is Love. When you imitate God you love people. I loved the video that was playing during the offering part of church. I posted it on Facebook and didn't get that many hits on it but it spoke to me in so many ways. Believe me when I say this is the best 4:13 minutes you will have spent in your life for some time now.

I really enjoy this church home I have been led to. Never knew that much about the UMC but my mom, sister and family belongs to the one in Garden City. I have many friends that are from that church and I went a few times while I was in Lowry City because my boyfriends Grandma belonged to the one in Lowry. This one is feeding me so far where I need to be fed. Really like it.

Well, that was the good part. The sad part is I have lost a friend to leukemia. He was diagnosed with Pre-Leukemia. The last time I saw him was at a good friend's fathers funeral. Lowry City is a small town but many people passed through my life the 18 years I lived there. This guys name was Ben Daughtery, nicknamed Skip. He was such a good looking young man when he was in our class our 4th grade year. His dad was in Vietnam and when he came home came to our class dressed in his uniform and spoke to us. I remember that like it was yesterday. Ben was the cousin to my best friend Lenora. Lenora's family "adopted" mom and I after dad passed away. Many a pitch game was played in our kitchens as we grew up. Anyway last time I saw Ben was at Lenora's dads funeral. Ben remembered me and we spoke as old friends do. It was so good seeing him and was going to come to our school reunions. He never did but we always were going to get him involved. His parents and his sister never missed a one. I wish we'd pursued him coming more than we did. Oh well, woulda, shoulda, coulda. Can do that all night. My mind goes from days in the past when he was in our lives. Many, many a good memory.

For those of you that aren't on Facebook or on my e-mail list and knew Ben, here is the link to his obit. I plan to make it to the family night but probably won't make it to the services or graveside. Just click on: Ben Daughtery

Well, going to get off here. Really enjoy posting daily on this blog and am glad you guys enjoy it. One friend told me it kept her grounded. Love you Annelie Glimka!!! She's one of those friends that will be friends for life, no matter what!!! just like the rest of you. Talk to you again tomorrow. Bye.

Saturday, August 18, 2012

Well, made chocolate chip cookies today using my new Kitchenaid Stand up mixer and can I say, love, love, loved it!!! It rocked on so many accords. Josh and Terry ate their weight in warm cookies straight out of the oven. Going to have to make some for Brandon next week too. Going to miss that kid when he goes to China but what an opportunity of a lifetime for him.

Cooked hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill and had chips. Then I rode my bicycle, walked and did 20 situps on my exercise ball. Had to do something to justify the chips and the cookie I had. My problem, I love to cook and I love to eat. That is what gets me in the shape I'm in now. :o)

It rained today but not enough to amount to anything. Josh was telling me today that he can't wait for fall and wearing his hoodies and overalls. I told him me too but hope this summer isn't a sign that we are going to be having an unseasonably warm winter. We need some serious snow fall this winter but we don't want any ice. AT ALL!!!

Well, my husband didn't win the big powerball ticket this week. Guess I'll need to keep going to work. I told him today, "I'd still work if we won." He laughed as I did too. I cannot fathom winning that kind of money.

Not much going on. Just kicking back and enjoying the day. Guess I'd better go. Getting a little bored with the Chiefs, Royals and the miniseries Hatfields and McCoy's. Between Josh and Terry with two TVs that is what was on. Terry in one room watching the games and Josh in the other watching Hatfield's and McCoy's. Have to admit it's a good movie but dang. Oh well, all is good.

Good night all and enjoy. Talk to you tomorrow.

Old Love.

Well, I do have to say today was a good day. Seems like everything that happened was a positive influence on my life. Except when I stopped in Lowry City to get gas. I left Springfield and was like, I need to get gas but it will probably be cheaper on down the road and I had enough to make it home but don't like being that low. I was driving along and went through Collins. Was like cool 3.49 a gallon. It was 3.59 in Springfield. Thought well, I'll wait till I get to Lowry because it's usually about the same. Got there and it was 3.63, I was like CRAP but went ahead and bought it thinking that it would probably be about the same. Not no but heck no, it was back to 3.49 in Clinton. Oh well, I only put like $15 in the tank in LC, which put me at 1/2 tank but still. Oh well.

One of my interviews today was with a very nice young man. We were talking and he told me his Uncle is one of the Village People. I told him that was really cool and he said that was his claim for fame. I really enjoyed visiting with this young man, he was awesome. Very, very interesting and we talked for quite sometime. He said out of everyone he has talked with since he found out he was HIV positive my talk has been probably the best one and made him feel so much better about his life. When I got in my car and left work I thanked God for putting me in this young man's life and THAT is what it's all about. There is a preacher in the Springfield area that does bible study for the gay population at APO and I am going to find out about it Tuesday and give him the information. He is a Christian and needs someone to not make him feel like he is a terrible person. I really, really like this young man.

Another really, really good thing happened to me today. I have dropped one pant size and they are a little loose. Not sloppy but as long as I keep doing what I am doing it won't be long before I get close to where I want to be. I have been going to the bathroom on the 4th floor and taking the stairs. I probably go 4 times in a day. Would go more if I would drink my water as I should. I am going to work on that next week. PLUS, I still go my 5 flights in the morning and in the afternoon. PLUS, eating 24 grams of carbs every 4 hours. It'll work.

Can't think of to much more to write about. I'm pretty happy with my life right now, of course a lot of has to do with being home with my best friend in the whole wide world!!! Going to sign off, love all you guys and thank you for keeping with me through all this. Not sure how interesting it is but it's keeping you guys entertained!!!

Suspicious Minds

We are getting rain, high winds and hail tonight in Springfield and surrounding area. Well, Springfield isn't getting it but south and east of us are. It's cooled down considerably and is nice. It rained earlier but isn't doing anything right now but as mom use to always say, "It's looking mean out!!!"

Went and got my hair done this evening. Got my feet done yesterday and my hair today. You'd think I'd be feeling really good about it but the price it costs for hair color, cut and style is ridiculous. I go to Karma salon down here and my hairdresser owns the salon and he is fabulous. He teaches and does shows all over, Vegas, Seattle, Philadelphia, Chicago. He was telling me today that he will be going to Casa Mel or some place like that. I can't remember where but it was impressive. He is married and has two beautiful children, no stereotype of him being a gay man because he is a hairdresser. He's funny and great.t As long as I can I will keep going to him even though he's like paying for a trip to the grocery store!!!

I'm really needing a vacation and can't wait for the one coming up. Just Terry and I and no worries, I hope. I don't know why I let things worry me so but they do. Today has not been a good day on the worry day but oh well. Tomorrow will be another day and as Brandon told me tonight. There's nothing you can do about anything tonight, let it go. Wise words said by a wise man!!!:o)

Tomorrow I get to go home and cannot wait. It will be so nice to be back to the house. I am going to sign off. Gotta do laundry and get ready for tomorrow. Talk to you tomorrow night.

35 years ago today, August 16, 1977 Elvis died. What were you doing on that day???

Maxine and the 4th Floor

Had a young man today come to my office. I really like him, visited first with him last week at his apartment. He is a new positive HIV. This kid makes me hate people so much. I cannot understand how someone can be so self centered and stupid to hate a particular sect of individuals just because they don't do everything the way they believe they should. This young man has it all going for him, he is cute, smart, and trying hard to make it in an area he is not familiar with. He is living with a person that is a really good friend of his. Yes, she is female. Does he have sex with males? I have no idea at this time and truthfully, I don't care. All I care about at this time is to get him into care and make sure he has a doctor and if needed has medicine. The meth head that I had yesterday that was a mess. Yeah, I classify him under a complete different category. Not going there. This young man today, my heart goes out to him and will both of them be in my prayers tonight. You are darn tooting and will be for a while. Pray for this society people. It's scary.

I went today after work to a lady that does pedicures. She does Seniors in Springfield area and she isn't into the pretty, pretty. She is into getting your feet healthy and is an awesome person. My feet are a mess and have been for quite a while. I go barefoot, wear sandals and don't lotion them up like I should. They are callused and cracked bad. She has them feeling so good tonight and gave me some things I need to do and will do. The best part, she only charged $20. Made my next appointment in 6 weeks and will keep going to her. Tomorrow I go get my hair colored, I have let it go to long and have the skunk streak going on. LOL. Can't wait to get that done too.

Planning to make an appointment tomorrow for a massage and may go to a chiropractor too. My back hasn't gotten back the way it should and I haven't made an appointment to my chiropractor in Grandview for a while. It is hard to make myself go on Monday when all I want to do is nothing when I am home. We'll see, like I said I will make the appointments tomorrow.

Didn't work out tonight. I am so frigging tired. Those allergies really kicked my butt last night and I do not sleep well when that happens. I hope to get something done tomorrow night. I didn't even walk up the stairs today. Am going to start going to the bathroom on the 4th floor instead of the floor I am on. I was talking to a friend at work and she was telling me how nice and clean that bathroom is. The floor we are on is the floor that driver's examination is on and that public restroom is nasty. I have a Maxine cartoon on my desk that says, "Me use the public restroom??? Are you kidding me??? Have you seen the public lately!!!" Amen to that one Maxine.

Well going to get off here. My co-worker Laura brought a book for me to read, "Winter's Bone" We were talking about it and I haven't seen the movie yet. She said she had the book and would bring it for me to read. She said it was really good and an easy read. I need an easy read because sometimes it's hard for me to read an entire book if it isn't easy to read. I get bored to fast. Anyway, I am wanting to get off here and read it. So, with that said I bid you a good night!!!

ALLERGIES STILL

Another lousy day of allergies. Mold is a really bad thing for me and right now they say the mold count is way up. We have had cooler temps, in the 70's and today it drizzled most of the day. We need about a month of a nice steady rain to fill the ponds, lakes and rivers. The crops are already gone.

Work hasn't been bad but do have a case that makes me mad. The 12 year old that just turned 12 in February that is 12 weeks pregnant with Chlamydia. Found out today that the father of the baby is 25yo. Yeah, that is the part of the job I hate. Especially when someone is trying to tell me that a pervert is a homosexual. No, your wrong. A pervert is someone who rapes children, women, men or the elderly. It is said that the sex was concentual. No, that is not concentual. She is to young to make a decision like that. Not going to get on that band wagon again. A few tried to switch it to homosexuals are perverts. Ok, whatever.

Well, I'm miserable and am going to get off here. Sorry, maybe I'll feel better tomorrow and write more.

Here it is.

I left the house today and told Terry, "Let the beatings begin". I go to work tomorrow, it's really not that bad but it's tough leaving Terry and coming down here. I also told him, one day closer to retirement. It will all be okay, some days are harder to leave than others.

When I got here I ran down to the fitness center. Did 30 minutes on the treadmill and 10 on the elliptical. 1.33 miles on the treadmill at 3 mph and 2.5 on the elliptical. Plan to do the stairs again tomorrow. Hoping all this amounts to something on the scales. I need to get a better scale. Terry has the kind that is the wheel that tells you your weight. I need a digital one though. It's easier for me to read and track my weight loss.

With Brandon leaving soon I am looking for a smaller apartment, house or duplex. The complex here has a smaller one bedroom apartment that will be perfect for what I need. Plus it will save me about $200 which is really good too. Also utilities won't be as high for just me. Especially in the winter. Summer I like having it cool but winter, I am so hot blooded that the temperature won't be hot. Unless its below zero most of the winter and I don't see that happening. I am looking forward to autumn though, even though it won't be pretty at all.

As I was coming down here today I got so melancholy. Not sure why but it could have to do with the fact I went drove through 3 towns I use to live in. Lots of memories in each town; some good, some bad. Then tonight I was on Facebook and I saw a someone on Facebook that I remember when he was a little boy. He's probably just about 40 now and not a little boy anymore. His mom, grandma and grandpa, uncles were very close to my husband and I. I have wondered at times what happened to him, just like I have wondered what has happened to others that have touched my life throughout the years.

Signing off. Tired and ready to hit the bed. Talk to you guys tomorrow.

My allergies have been bothering me today. Sneezing, watery eyes, the whole kit and kaboodle. Not sure why but they have. It was a warmer day today and quite possible some type of pollen was floating around. We had some rain last week and mold/mildew is something I am highly allergic to so that might be it. Don't know.

Here's some pictures I got off Facebook of Josh and Jenny's wedding. Got a few of that beautiful Miss Madison.

Madison is on the left. She is so funny, I told her I loved her hair and she said thanks, Wal-Mart did it

Madison loves Jenny. She told someone I'm Madison and Jenny is my Step-Mom!!!

Jenny and her dad. Isn't she beautiful? She is beautiful inside and out!!!

Vows

It was a good day and I am so happy for the two of them. The picture with Jenny and Madison, in the background is Josh and his mom.

Went to church this morning. Met a couple other people there, really think I'm going to like it. I like the fact it is close and no one knows me. Like my friend Patsey said, start with a clean slate. No one knows your history. LOL. So true.

Well, getting ready to go to bed. Will go back to Springfield tomorrow. I'll write more tomorrow night. I plan to attend the Master Gardener meeting Tuesday night. Going to go tonight though and get ready for bed. Good night.

Just memories during a common day

Beautiful day, beautiful bride, Madison was beautiful. Love seeing Josh, Jenny and Madison so happy. All is good in that aspect. Wasn't expecting it but Terry and I were walked down in the front of the church with the family. All was fine. The young man that walked me was really cool. His name was Jason and he was a good friend of Josh's. We left right after the services. We would have stayed but didn't want to cause any problems and it could have happened if we'd stuck around. Did meet some of Josh's relatives on his mother's side. Everyone seemed pretty nice and was glad to see such a beautiful event for a couple of beautiful people.

Well, got the ole' Mountain Bike out of the shed this morning. The back tire was flat so decided to walk down to Casey's to get it aired up. Casey's is about 4 blocks away from us. As I was pushing the bike down the road a gentleman told me I was suppose to be riding that. I laughed and told him I needed to get some air in the back tire. He said he had a air bubble and asked if I wanted him to air it up. I took him up on it and after he aired it I headed out to do a little riding. Granted I haven't ridden it for a while so I am going to have to get my strength back up. About three years ago I would ride trails and across creeks and have quite a good time on it. After I met Terry I got lazy. Only excuse I have and I am sticking with it.

Also did about 20 situps on my exercise ball today. My Josh noticed today when we were standing outside. He asked if I was losing weight and I told him yes. Gotta move it along with eat right and all that is so hard. I wish it was as easy for me to lose it as it is to gain it. :o)

Not to much happening, love the weather though. It's in the 80's again today. Love it with a passion.

Going to sign off because all it seems I have to talk about is nothing really interesting. Going to church again tomorrow. Got a cup and another invite from them yesterday. LOL.

I love looking at these old album covers. Brings back memories of the day!!!

It's totally Amazing!!!

Took one more flight of stairs today but think that will be it for me for a while. A guy at work walks all 10 flights, once in the morning and once in the afternoon. He said when he started he'd add one flight a month, told him that will probably be a good idea and was going to start that. I walked up 5 flights this morning and then this afternoon hit it again, walking 5 flights but one more time. Yesterday when I did the 4 I was like, I probably could have taken another one. That extra one got the ole ticker a ticking. My calves are a little sore this evening and my stomach muscles are tender. Tomorrow I am going to get the bicycle out of the shed and ride it this weekend. It will all be good.

Temperature got up to 85* today. It was absolutely beautiful and almost chilly feeling after dealing with 100+* that we have dealt with earlier. I haven't gone outside and checked on my plants tonight. I know Terry watered them for me this week because he would tell me when we talked each night. I will check them out in the morning

The wedding is tomorrow. I am so happy for Terry's Josh. His fiancee' has to be a sweetheart. I absolutely love her and she is so pretty. She is a good stable person and a smart lady. I believe she will be such a valuable asset for Josh and Madison. Her family makes Josh feel so welcome and is such an important, attainable, functional direction for him to attain. It will be a positive thing for Miss Madison also. Good, good people that Josh is getting involved in. As I said, I am so happy for both him and Jenny and Miss Madison. Plus it is to be 87* tomorrow, what a beautiful day for a beautiful event.

You want to read a good blog, I challenge you to read this one. Michael Patz You won't be disappointed. He hits it home for me and have enjoyed everything he has posted, including this quote "Amazing grace only makes a sweet sound when you know you're a wretch."

Well, I'm signing off. Poor Terry, he has the Royals getting spanked by Baltimore on one channel and the Chiefs on another channel spanking Arizona. We are flipping between channels between commercials. Thank goodness the PGA isn't on another channel. LOL. I will talk to you guys tomorrow.

Added one more!!!

Well, where do I begin??? I never know how to begin and never know how to end these dang things. I usually just sit down and start typing and let it go where it needs to go. No where in particular. Just throughout the day.

Work was work. Nothing great, just same ole, same ole. You know what beverage a balloon hates? ~POP~ Cracked me up when I heard it. The receptionist always tells me a corny joke once a week. Not all of them I can remember and some are not very funny. If I hear of one I tell it to him but he always has one.

My heart breaks but one more time. Not sure why I remembered it now but it just kills me. I have a new case on my caseload that I received this morning. 12 year old girl, she just turned 12 this February, pregnant and has Chlamydia. I haven't gotten a chance to talk to her or the facility that she tested at to find out what happened, but this just makes me so sad. I don't even know what to say, I am at a loss for words.

Each morning either while I am in the car going to work, or fixing my coffee, or in the shower getting ready for work I say a prayer for everyone that has been brought to my heart. Either on Facebook or just life in general. Then I say a prayer for God to give me the Wisdom I need to do his work as He sees fit. Pretty scary too, because you don't know what He is going to give you.

I have been attacked by many lately that I am not Christian because of the way I feel. That hurts when those words are said to me. I want to be a good person but I am human and make mistakes and do things wrong. I believe in my heart that what I am doing is exactly what God wants me to do. Who are they to tell me I am doing wrong, has God appointed them to be the Christian police, to tell me I am sinful because of the way I believe. Can't help it, I love people and I want to help them and plan to help them the best way I know how.

Okay, off sad subjects and wah, wah, wah subjects. Guess what I did today. I walked up 4 flights of stairs. That last flight was a buger. I work in a building that has 10 flights of stairs so thought I'd start walking. I started yesterday in the parking garage. I had to go out in the field and when I got back had to park on the 3rd floor so when I got off I walked up the 3 flights. I was like, I could do that with no problem, I will do it at work the next day and add a flight. For right now 4 is going to be my limit. I plan to try and incorporate this into a daily regime, eventually making it up the 10 flights. We'll see.

Going to sign off. Talk to you guys tomorrow.

At Last

FINALLY this day was a good one. Its been a little stressful the last week or so but I'm almost caught up with my work and all is good. Was able to really help a couple of people the last couple of days and that always makes you feel good. Supervisor followed me in the field and all was good there too. Plugged in the Van Morrison station on Pandora in the car radio and jammed out. They were playing some awesome songs, Creedance, Marshall Tucker Band, The Band, Etta James. I love Etta James and so does my super so everything was good. LOL. Never know.

One place I was at today had a teacup Pomeranian there. If that little gal wasn't a mess, her name was Bella. The high pitched barking would have drove me nuts, but she was a sweetie. Don't get me wrong, I love my Lamar and wouldn't trade him for anything. There is a special sweetness about a Yorkie. They definately have personality plus!!!

It rained this afternoon in Springfield. We may be getting more later this evening, which won't hurt my feelings at all. As I was sitting at my desk I heard the thunder and was like, "Is that thunder???" Sure enough, I turned around to look out my window and it was pouring down. Water was just running down the street like a small river. It was so nice and when I walked to the car it smelled so good and felt even better. I hope we eventually get out of this drought we are in, even though I am sure most of the damage has already been done.

Weekend is going to be a full one. We have a wedding to go to and am looking forward to it. Madison will be there and we will be able to see her. She is such a sweetie. Can't wait.

Not much to write about. Anyway I can't think of anything. Maybe tomorrow will be a better news day. LOL. Talk to you tomorrow.

If Ya Need a Little Lovin' Call On Me!!!

So tired today and am not sure why. A lot of it has to do with work, I am sure. I am trying to get caught up but sometimes it is overwhelming. Plus you can only do what you can do. No matter how much grief you receive, I am doing the best I can. Just have to pray hard on all that is dealt my way.

Today I met a man that had been exposed to HIV. His partner lived in another part of the US and had contacted him, letting him know he had been exposed. This gentleman was in his 40's and had a thick Mexican accent but spoke English. We visited for quite sometime while we were waiting for his results. We have a test kit that you can get your results in 20 minutes. After visiting with him for a while I thought he was going to be positive but was so relieved it was negative. I hate nothing more than to tell them they are positive. His last encounter with his mate was in February. I informed him that he will need to get another test in 3-6 months just to make sure but right now everything looks good. When I have someone I visit with them and educate them. I also bring the conversation to where they are at the moment we are talking. It was a little difficult to understand him at times but I could carry a conversation with him. There were times I'd have to ask him to repeat but I did get the best out of it. I was giving him some telephone numbers for some resources and he thanked me, telling me "You are a very nice lady." I thanked him and told him that my job is to help people, not make them feel bad about something we all are guilty of. He told me "You do good job helping, you are nice." We shook hands and he left.

I wish I didn't have to mess with the rest of the aspects of my job, just this part of it. Well, I'm not going to get on that bandwagon. I need to find something else to rant and rave about.

I am going to work on happy things to talk about for right now. No more things that make me a raving maniac!!! We all know I want to retire, want to lose weight, want to save the world and want gas prices to lower. This morning walking into work I said hi to the maintenance man. Told him I never thought I'd find the day that 98* was a good day and 3.19 a gallon was a good price for gas. He laughed and said he heard that.

Well, I'm going to sign off of here. Heard this song tonight and enjoyed it, thought I'd share it with you as I have shared it with my Facebook friends. I know not everyone appreciates this kind of music but I do, so there ya go. Hope it plays okay for you

Another Sad, Sad Day!!!

I was just thinking. I am trying to take my vitamins to help with my well being and it is so hard to take any kind of pill. Always has been, when I was a little girl my mom would wrap it in bread, use apple sauce and any other way she could think of so I would swallow the medicine. Always gagged and threw up when I would take them. Anyway, the last few nights I have been having trouble swallowing my pills. Tonight I was like I can't take my vitamins but did take my other prescriptions. I was wondering, do you think I am still getting the benefit of the vitamins if I don't take them every night. I took them last night, maybe if I tell you what I take, I take a one a day vitamin (Centrium) two fish oil pills and one Vitamin D pill. I should split them out throughout the day but am not real good with that because I forget to take them. Sometimes I remember but not always. Oh well, I'll figure something out.

Another mass shooting of innocent children and people. All they were doing were having services at their temple. One of my bosses since I have worked at the State, her and her husband are Sikh. Yes, once in a while she would do things that didn't make sense to me but as far as being a bad person, she wasn't. I really liked her as a person and also her husband. Her name was Sat Inder Khalsa and her husband's name was Karta Purke.

An article I was reading about the event was very interesting. "How can one even think of attacking a religion who's solely based on peace and unity. Sikhs have never done harm to any other religion or nation. Wherever they go, they become a part of that nation and help to build it stronger. The six year old girl who got shot yesterday, was she a terrorist? or did she look dangerous to anyone out there? What is this world coming to? It has become so easy for any moron to just walk into a temple and start killing people? Is there no value left for the life of a human being?" Then someone commented on it going " Just because you feel uncomfortable or feel threatened by another's religion, it doesn't give you the right to kill them!" I agree with this at so many levels. Another thing I was telling a friend of mine today, do you notice that all these mass killings that happen are always white men with mental issues. Let's take away funding for health care and see what happens to our society. Maya Angelo says it best.

I don't know, I am getting tired hearing all about this stuff on TV, let alone all the politician hot air. Tell me what you are going to do, not what everyone else is not doing. I don't care.

Well, heading out of here. Bed is calling my name. Tomorrow is another day and I am going to make the best of each of my days here on this earth. If I can make a difference in one person's life a day I will be happy. Just smile and say hi to someone on the street can make their day. Peace, love and tranquility to each of you!!!

Guitarded

Tried another new church today. There is a Methodist Church next door to us and I have been meaning to try it out and never have. Just because taking that first step is always the hardest. I went this morning and really enjoyed the service. It was Communion Sunday, they were having a Baptism and also someone was joining the church. It was a busy Sunday for them but I enjoyed it. Wasn't a huge congregation but they have two services. I went to the 10:45 service, can't miss my favorite show, "Sunday Morning".

There was this little boy that looked to be around 4, sitting with his parents and grandma's at the church. The Worship Team band were playing a song that was a rock song and there was a lot of electric guitar. This little guy had been fidgeting most of the morning but the minute this song started he jumps into the aisle and starts jamming on an air guitar. The dance moves while he was playing that air guitar great. He eventually got bored with that and saw a buddy of his sitting close to where his parents were sitting and he went over to be with him. This little guy reminded me of Josh when he was that age.

Communion time at church always reminds me of a time that Josh was probably around the same age as the air guitar little boy. He was fidgeting around and making noise and we were getting ready to take communion, Josh stops all of a sudden and sits straight up at the edge of his seat. He looks over at me and goes, "Are you hungry?" I said no, not really. He goes, "Snacks are coming." He had been going to daycare his entire life and he knew all about snacks.

Terry and I were alone today. Josh was still gone to his float trip with his friends and who knows when Brandon is coming home so Terry decided to take me out to eat so I wouldn't have to cook. We couldn't decide where to go so went to Ruby Tuesday. It was pretty good, then we came home and haven't done a thing all day. Josh came home and he's been here all afternoon. Slow news day and just getting ready to go back to Springfield tomorrow.

Well, that's about it. I will talk to you tomorrow sometime. After I get to Springfield anyway.

Repent your sins and don't worry about mine.

Well, it was a full day. Went furniture shopping and bought a recliner for Terry. His is pretty beat up and in bad shape. Won't even recline. They'll be delivering it on Friday so we are pretty excited about getting it. Terry told me to try it out here in the store and I told him it would probably be the only time I'll be able to sit in it and he laughed, said probably so. Patsey ran by before we left and we went to pick her a recliner she'd gotten off Craigslist. The lady we went to was a lovely person, God puts people in our lives for a reason.

I did it today. I am playing around on making a web page. We'll see how it all goes. Still dinking around with it but think I'll like it. Once I get pretty confident I will probably move my blog but we will see. I will be able to do so much more with it I believe.

You know, I don't know why people feel they need to change my views and feelings when it is not their position to do so. I am not going to change the way I feel about someone just because you don't like them. Whether they are gay, homeless, unemployed, drug addicts, prisoners. It doesn't matter, I am going to treat everyone the way I want to be treated. I will follow the Ten Commandments and also the Golden Rule. Period. On Facebook there has been quite a controversy going on my page because I feel what the CEO of Chick A Lick did was wrong and turned more people away from God instead of bringing the lost to God. I feel Mr. Cathy did this for a business move and that is all it was. Oh well, I don't plan to change your mind and don't try to change mine. Your sin is no worse than any other sin. Sin is sin and we will all have to answer to it when the big day comes.

I'm tired. Lamar got me up early because he had to go to the bathroom and then I couldn't go back to sleep. Going to bed. Don't hate me for how I think and I won't hate you. Just don't tell me I need to repent my sins. I had someone continually call my land line number and play that recording to me. Several times a day because I was living with a man that wasn't my husband. When this is between the individual and God. Period. Well, good night.

Don't be scared.

It's good to be home. I've said that before, haven't I? Suppose to rain tonight and that's good. We can use as much water as we can get. I was in the southern section of MO yesterday and the Lake of the Ozarks is so low. Something crazy. Everything is suffering so from the drought we are having here. I posted this on Facebook in regard's to the tree's and there dropping of their leaves now. "As I have been traveling through out MO I have noticed leaves dropping from shade tree's and tree's in forests that are dying. I have to admit, being a plant lover this has concerned me. Today I picked up a flyer that the Missouri Department of Conservation had sitting out. According to this flyer "Symptoms of water stress include leaf droop and the eventual drying and scorching of leaves, resu lting in tree canopies turning brown." A Forestry Supervisor Nick Kuhn said, "Some trees are dropping leaves to reduce water usage. That doesn't mean they are dying, but it does mean they are thirsty and they may have gone dormant. Some species will regrow leaves if watered or if rains return." He advised people to water and mulch their trees to help them through the drought. I then went to their website and read more. Interesting."

My husband is in Lee's Summit tonight at a free Jazz concert registering people to vote. I should have went but I am fried. This week was brutal. No matter what I did this week it was wrong. If I'd said the sun shines at noon today they would have told me no, it was the moon. Nothing and I mean nothing was right. Glad that's over, guess I'll endure next week when it comes around

Love this show and love this song. Good night all.

It's a new look

Decided to change the looks of my blog a little. Got tired of the sunflowers. Not sure I like this or not but it will do for tonight. I'm a little bummed. Not sure if it is because I have been messing around if it or if people dropped being followers because they didn't like what I posted. Anyway, I had like 6 followers and now am down to two. Of course I could have done something when I was changing all my stuff. I'm sure my sister in law wouldn't delete me. Hmmm. Going to have to check into it more and see what I did.

Today was an eventful day. Went into the hills of the Ozarks today. Taneyville was one place. Where Winter's Bone was filmed. Man, when you get off the beaten path you see some real hill folk. Got off this state road and went down this lane that was very, very rocky. A trailer sat on the side of a hill with two other trailers on the property too. Very poverty stricken. When I pulled up about 6 dogs come running up barking. They were small dogs, not Rott's but still, you are never sure. A lady that looked like she was straight out of Shepherd of the Hills comes out. First thing out of her mouth was "Who are you?" I told her and told her who I was looking for. It turns out it was her son. She started to tear up and said he'd left in October and last she heard he was in Springfield. Probably not but I felt so sorry for her. She was a concerned mama about her son. Even though I am sure he is involved in meth because the person that named him was tweeking when we talked to him. Annnddd, I don't like to stereotype but that is what is in these hills now. It's a different world in the Ozarks.

Needless to say, for a state the size of Missouri we have a vast array of cultures. The southern part of the state is nothing like the Eastern and Northern, let alone the Northwestern. Those three districts are as different as night and day. I am not sure which area I would rather have but since I have worked the Northwest and Southwest, I am content. I don't want the Southeast. That is another world within itself. If you have never been into the boothill of Missouri and worked public health, I recommend it. It's different too. Different world all together, just like St. Louis. I have never been into the Northeast and worked but one of these days I am sure. It will be a trip.

I read on a book today on blogging. Just to see if I could learn anything else. It said to be sure and read for grammar and punctuation errors. Grammar was never a strong suit for me so if I use to many run-on sentences, I am sorry. LOL. Anyway, guess I'm doing okay. Yet yelled at if I miss a posting and try not to. Have a few but had some good reasons.

Well, gonna sign off. Hope to talk to you guys tomorrow night.

Do we REALLY have it that bad???

As I set here, going through the day events in my head the main topic I can think about is Syria. If you listen to the news, read a news paper or just keep up on current events you have heard about this civil war going on.

I was fixing something to eat this evening and had the world news on. They were reporting about these rebels that were massacred outside of Damascus. According to Wikipedia (my all time favorite resource on the net) this ongoing internal armed conflict began on 15 March 2011 developing into a nationwide uprising, and a civil war in 2012. Public demonstrations have been happening, as part of the wider revolutionary wave of demonstrations and protests that have been occurring in the Arab world to force rulers from power. Syrian protesters have demanded the end to nearly five decades of Ba’ath Party rule, as well as the resignation of Bashar al-Assad.

Today Assad has urged his troops to "step up the fight". After this story was done, the station had a commercial and it was nothing but hate bashing with politics. It made me think about all the hate bashing that is in the USA today and how people think we have it so bad. I'm thinking move to a third world people in the middle of a Civil War and then let me hear how bad you have it.

I have met so many people within my career that have come from these other countries for refuge, to be safe and away from the craziness that is in the other world. My heart is soft for these people and their stories. It is so, so sad. Why do people have to hate so much. Why can't people see others in the eyes of Mother Teresa, or Nelson Mandela. These two individuals are a couple of my inspirations. Good people that loved mankind.

With that all said, I've been doing pretty good with my carbs this week without my favorite sabotager in the whole wide world here!!! :o) It's easier whenever he's not around except the other day he did make some killer scrambled eggs to lunch/breakfast. Guess I won't complain much about him. He's my favorite sabotager in the world though, wouldn't trade him for nothing!!! :o)

Well, I'm going to go run the dishwasher and just chill on the "net" for a while. Will talk to you guys tomorrow and remember to always. . .
