The end of 2012

As I woke up this morning, I looked outside and it was snowing. Just as the weatherman had predicted. This put me in the mood to do some cooking so I made a pan of homemade applesauce, put a roast in the crock pot and sat some yeast rolls out to rise. Made the house smell wonderful and made for a delicious dinner.

Throughout the day Terry and I were remembering New Year's Eve of the past. When it snowed so hard you could hardly see, we were thinking it was around 1979 or so. I told him I remembered, I was heading to Independence MO to a party and no matter what I was going to make it. The road's were treacherous and visibility was low. I made it to the party and made it home but it was stupid. Then we thought of the other stupid stuff we have done in the past and these experiences are what makes me worry so for my son and others that are out tonight. Roads will be slick because we had snow all day. It was too warm to stick to the roads, making them wet. Now that the sun is down and the temps have dropped, the road condition is slick. Making a worrying mother pray a little harder for all those out tonight, especially my son and his best friend that is two weeks home from being out of the Army. Just scares me.

Going to get off. My computer is down so Terry and I are sharing and I have been on for a while. Talk to you guys tomorrow and pray everyone stays safe.

Two Years and Going Strong

Today is our Second Anniversary. We have been together for three but this is the day we made it forever. I feel the same about him today as I did when I married him. Brandon told me today that he was going to email his dad and congratulate him for putting up with me this long. I told him funny!!! He was teasing me.

Madison went home today. We really did have a good time but I have learned that I really do not like Chocolate Chip Blueberry Pancakes but will eat at least half of it before I announce that I am so stuffed I couldn't eat another bite. Also have a new respect for Justin Timberlake radio on my Pandora. Along with Beyonce, Rhianna and Brandy. She was a blast and she had a good time too.

Laundry is going, kitchen has been cleaned up and I now need to straighten up the bedroom and living room. I wasn't tired until I sat down and started typing on this and checking my facebook. Cannot believe 2012 is over and the start of 2013 is just a couple of days away.

Love you guys and Spring is close. Remember if you start seedlings in the house with a light source make sure they get 12 consecutive hours of light a day and that you keep the plants at least 4 inches from their light source to prevent stretching. Man, wish I was retired so I could just grow, grow, grow all kinds of plants. One of these days, I promise myself. Talk to you guys tomorrow.

Miss Madison

Madison is here and I am sooooo happy. We have been having a blast. Stopped off at her house on the way home and picked her up. When we got home she picked where she wanted to eat so Captain D's here we come. She got her fish and shrimp dinner, her and Grandpa had dessert but I was to full. Then off to the grocery store so we could get ingredients for her favorite pancakes in the world. Chocolate chip and Blueberry pancakes. Said it was her favorite and I wasn't going to question. Also got ingredients to make cinnamon rolls and homemade hot cocoa. Came home and started the cinnamon rolls. Grandma starting wearing out at 10 but her and Grandpa stayed up until 1am.

I beat everyone up but eventually Madison and Grandpa got up, ate our cinnamon rolls and made the hot cocoa, showered and headed to Overland Park to the American Girl store. All I have to say is WOW. Impressive store and we were able to buy her a hair salon for her three "My Life" dolls. She got them from her mama and her memaw for Christmas and she loves them. Christmas was pretty awesome for this little girl, getting some pretty awesome gifts. My Life dolls are like American Girls, you just don't pay that high price for the namebrand. Madison loves them.

We then went to Panera Bread for lunch. She had never had New England Clam Chowder and she wanted to try it. I've gotta say she loved it and ate it all. We had such a good day. Getting ready to go eat supper with Grandpa and kick back for the evening.

Madison made a video before we went to the store. Silly but oh so fun. Enjoy.

So if you have been wondering where I have been through all this, this is it. I am busy with a beautiful little girl. I'm getting off here and will talk tomorrow. Good night all.

Paradise

Well, looks like we won't be getting Madison this weekend but that is okay. Sounds like she is going to have another Christmas. When you are that age you can never have to many Christmas'. It's going to be a good year. No matter how it works it's way out.

As I was driving down to Springfield today I was thinking to myself how I am excited about the new year and what 2013 has in store for me. The only part I am not looking forward to are the loss of acquantances that I hold dear to my heart. Family, friends, neighbors, celebrities that I have grown up with and anyone else that has been put in my path of life to know and love. Hard to explain but then again I may not need to explain because you may very well know what I mean.

I stopped by the chiropractor office I mentioned last night about, to make an appointment. They are closed until after the first of the year. I took their number down though and plan to call for a massage after they open up. When I got down to Springfield I made an appointment to go to a chiropractor that has been recommended. I have never gone to this chiropractor but did get a massage from someone in the same office and it was wonderful, of course I have never had a bad massage anywhere. Thank goodness. My neck, shoulder, low back and now my right knee is giving me fits. Going to start with the person that is down here to get me back into shape and will slowly move into the chiropractor in Harrisonville. I cannot wait for my appointment tomorrow afternoon though.

Terry is on the mend. Our wedding anniversary is Sunday and we were trying to plan what we are going to do. Probably nothing really big but we will go out and eat because that is the way we roll. LOL. It doesn't seem like it will be two years already. When we were discussing my retirement date he explained it as in how fast our last three years have been and the next three that I have to wait on retirement will slip by just as fast. I know he is right too because it doesn't seem like we have been together for three years.

Well, I am going to get off of here.

Embrace the Magic

As Christmas is slowly coming to an end we are nearing the end of 2012 as well. This is the time that we start planning to change our lives to the better, usually our health lives. As I am sitting here and re-evaluating my life in general I can think of a number of things I would like to improve upon and hopefully I will make an attempt. Weight, taking care of myself mentally and physically, each month doing something for someone else that is above and beyond the call of duty along with many other things that will come up during the new year that I find as an opportunity to change my life to the positive. Not sure what, when, where or how but I am sure I will write about it when it happens.

I know one thing, I am planning on at least once a month treating myself to a full body massage. If you have never had one treat yourself to one. They are absolutely outstanding. Tomorrow I am going to go to the chiropractor and start on some treatments and am also going to make an appointment for a massage. A friend of mine, Dora, told me about an office here in Harrisonville that she really likes the chiropractor and massage therapist. Yep, I'm checking them out tomorrow. Am looking forward to this promise to my body.

I have a box of apples I bought from my cousin George's son Andy. FFA fruit and I am going to make a pot of homemade sugar free apple sauce today. Also want to make some crock pot apple butter sometime soon. I made the applesauce last year and absolutely loved it. Terry isn't that crazy about it and neither is Josh but I like it and my friend at work, Debbie does too. I'll make her some too. Mom use to always make fried apples which is another thing I love.

This has been a cooking kind of day. Josh and I have started the tradition of having Christmas breakfast so this morning I made homemade Whole Wheat Pancakes with bacon. Then I made a pot of chili and that is what we have been eating on all day. Thanksgiving is my big feast type of meal but Christmas has always been like this. When mom was alive we would meet over at my nieces house and usually have sandwiches or whatever. It all works. Traditions are whatever you make.

Getting off of here and will talk to you tomorrow. Take care and be careful.

Happy, happy, happy :o)

It has proved to be a very blessed and Merry Christmas so far. Madison and her parents came by and we had lunch after we exchanged presents. I couldn't wait for her to get here, I am as bad as a child myself. She loved all that we got her but I captured pictures of her favorite part. She thanked us a "million times over".

She loves her Grandpa and he loves her. He wasn't feeling that good but wanted to come outside and get a picture with her on her new bicycle that we bought.

Honestly I could of smiled but I was trying to tell Madison's daddy that he needs to hold down on the big button. LOL.

Leave it well enough alone Glenda. Still barking out the orders!

And...she's off.

She sure did love the present and we loved seeing her face when she walked in the door. Of course I didn't catch that!!!

I wasn't sure what her reaction was going to be on my hair and she kept telling me that she likes it but it's different seeing me with red hair. She said her mama has red hair too. :o) Madison is such a sweet, sweet little girl. I showed her the bed that we bought for her room and she loves it. Plan to have her around more this year than in the past.

Not only was it so great to see Josh, Jen and Madison, Brandon skyped us this morning too. He was concerned about his dad because I spoke with him yesterday. He looks great and is doing great. We haven't heard from Jeremy and Barbel yet but we probably will. I wrote them last night and wished them a Merry Christmas so they know we are thinking of them and love them too. Terry surely has a blessed family.

Well, speaking of a blessed family I recieved an email from my cousin, Carol. Titled, "Red heads are hot!" LOL. I love her to death too. Heck, come to think of it I have a blessed family too. Terry and I are pretty lucky having some awesome people in our lives.

I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year. Or Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year. Or just Peace, Love and Tranquility.

Hallelujah!

He came humbly, to a dirty stinky stable born to a teenage girl in a town as busy as new Orleans @ Mardi Gras

I do have to admit deep down in my heart and soul I love this time of the year. Not the shopping, not the gifts but the meaning of this time of the year. Baby Jesus, the beginning of a wonderful life for us all. After the terrible killings of all those babies a couple weeks ago I read a post that said, in this time turn to Mary, she knows what it is like to have a son killed during hate and violence. I cannot imagine the hurt she must have endured when her son was crucified.

With this said I am getting off of here. Love everyone and pray for a blessed Christmas to everyone. Especially the one's that hate me. You need lots of love and compassion right now because you are a sad, sad person. Merry Christmas

Personal Jesus

Well, Terry woke up this morning with the crud. Really bad sore throat and cough. We went to the VA and they gave him some medicine for the cough and said he has the crud. Hmm, me too except I didn't give him any medicine. Just cough drops but am glad we got something for the cough.

Got a long story but feel the need to tell you guys about a couple of things that happened to us today. I was sitting in the waiting room at the hospital and a gentleman comes out with a family that was leaving. When he got to the hall he asked them were a phone was. The lady said she didn't know but maybe in the lobby. So the gentleman walks down the hall towards the lobby, asking a couple more people where a phone was.

Then he comes back through and goes to the exit. Not 5 minutes passes by and he is back in the waiting room with me. Since I was the only one in there he sits at the seat right next to me. You could smell last nights liquor on his breath and he kept saying, I couldn't stay there. I asked him where he meant and he said home. I asked him if he had called the cab and he said yes. I then mentioned he might want to keep an eye out for the cab because they might leave without him. He goes, yeah your right and proceeded back to the exit again. Here he comes back like a boomerang and sets by me again. Sighing and saying man I hate this. Then he goes, you wouldn't have a couple bucks would you? I'm flat broke. I apologized and told him I had absolutely no cash on me which wasn't a lie.

He gets up and proceeds to ask other people in the hall if they had some spare change. Someone asked him what he needed it for and he said a cab. The guy said how much will it cost for the cab and he goes $4.00. The guy asked if he thought about taking the bus and he said no, he'd already called the cab. By this time a police officier came up to the guy and spoke with him very politely and gave him a couple of verbal warnings. The homeless guy asked if the police officer could take him home and the police officer asked where he lived. He lived over in KC Kansas and the officer politely told him no, he couldn't do that. Then the cabby comes in and asks for the gentleman by name and I asked if he was a cabby. He said yes and I said last I saw the guy he'd went that way talking to a policeman. The cabby goes, GREAT. I heard the cabby talk with the police officer and he took the cabby to the gentleman.

As they were walking out the cabby asked the man how he was going to pay for the cab. He said with a credit card. The cabby said, well we're going to run the card before we leave. I never saw the man again after that. I am not sure if the credit card was good and the cabby took him to his destination or if the guy ended up going to the bus stop. I was like, seriously this dude has a credit card that is good. Professional homeless man!!! But it was all okay. I visited with him and all.

There was another gentleman that was waiting to get into see the Dr. He said he had broncial stuff to someone on his cell phone. He was talking to this gentleman asking him if he minded to find a group to do the 21 gun salute. He proclaimed everything for the funeral was set up besides that. The gentleman had been in the service for like 45 years. He said he checked with Leavenworth but they don't do the salute anymore and just have a tape recording of the taps. If you have never been to a funeral where they do the salute and a live person does the taps, you do not know what true goosebumps are.

Then Terry and I went to Ryan's Cafeteria to eat in Belton. We were sitting there eating and a older man comes up to him and asked what service he was in. Terry said Navy and asked the gentleman what service he was in. He told him Navy also, said he went in 1950. The gentleman either had Alzheimer's or severe Dementia because he just kept asking Terry the same questions over and over and over. Him his wife and another couple their age was sitting at the table next to us. He had a military hat ball hat on just like Terry so you knew he was a Veteran. Terry and I got quite a smile out of it and we both mentioned, bless his heart.

You know, lots of events happened today for a reason. It made me love and respect mankind a little more, until I went to the grocery store when we got home. Then I had road rage. LOL. Not really but I hate Christmas crowds.

If you have bad things happening in your life look around because there is a lot of good happening at the same time. I am reading a book called, "The Maker's Diet" and one of the things the author says to do is when you look in the mirror look at the good you see. There is alot of good.

One more thing and then I will let you guys go. When we went to Ryan's the last time the cashier was telling us about the Veteran's discount after we had already paid for the Senior Citizen discount. I was eligible for it yet since it is for 60 but Terry told her I was about 60 if that counted. LOL. Well today as we were walking up to the cash register he told me, I don't think we'll be able to get that discount now because you look younger. That made me feel good because when I came in with this new do last night all he said was, man you did get red. :o) I love the man.

Cut it out!!!

Yep, that's right. I say Happy Holidays, I say Merry Christmas, I say Happy Hanukkah, I say any thing I want to say to wish my friends and even just people in a store best wishes. It doesn't mean I am taking Christ out of Christmas. THAT rant and rave by a bunch of idiots really ticks me off. Not saying any more because each person can believe and say what they want to say. Hey, it's Christmas and it is a time to be happy so Imma gonna say "Happy Holidays". HA!

Did my Do!!!

Got my do did tonight. A friend of mine in Jefferson City said her nephew does hair. I always love hers and he does hers. She said next time I am in Jeff City give her a call and she will make sure he is working. Well, I am here tonight so when I got in town this evening I went over and had him do it. If anyone needs a good hairdresser, I will totally recommend Bruce. He was fun and such an artist. What do you think?

Sure hope Terry likes red heads. LOL. He won't care, he's pretty easy to please.

Also got my flu shot today. Have been meaning to get it and kept forgetting. Was even in the Dr. office and forgot. Oh well, it all works out in the end.

Don't know much to write about. It is cold and raining outside. We are suppose to get a dusting of snow but don't think it will amount to much. Will be home tomorrow night at the apartment in Springfield. Then home in Harrisonville Friday with a 4 day weekend. Gotta get back to work Wednesday because my co worker has children and always takes off the week of Christmas. I don't mind doing that so she can spend time with her family. People would do that for me when Josh was little.

Good night everyone.

All I Gotta do is Focus!

Went looking at computers tonight. The one I want is over $2000, guess what??? I won't be getting that one. Josh told me why don't I just go ahead and bite the bullet and get me one. Yeah, Josh...why don't you just bite the bullet and buy it for mom. LOL. I do like the I Pad's but am thinking about getting a Mac notebook. We'll see. I am taking my computer in tomorrow and see what they can diagnosis it as. Dead or alive.

Work went okay. It's work. Talked sometime with a really nice lady. She'd had syphilis back in 1963. Her husband was in the Navy and had given it to her. She went to donate blood because of Hurricane Sandy and she can't do it because of this. My supervisor explained to me it is what organization that she donates through. Once you have syphilis it will show in your plasma but once you are treated you are fine. It's treatable but repeatable. She's fine and has never been reinfected.

It's getting close to 2013 and that is when the resolutions come forth. I'm not going to hold myself to any but I have got to do some things differently this next year. Focus on my health and well being. It's easy, I just have to do it. We'll see.

Well, hate to say it but I am getting off of here. I'm tired and it's getting late. Not to late but close to time to go to bed. Going to read a little while I am there. Good night friends and remember...

Didja miss me???

Wow. This was quite a weekend. Lots of Christmas celebration. Had a blast with the family Saturday night. Cannot believe how big the babies are getting. The oldest of my gg nieces and nephews are 16 all the way down to 6. I cannot believe it but of course with my great niece turning 40 the end of the month does not seem possible either. It was great being with everyone and had a blast. Terry ended up with a candy dish of homemade peanut clusters and have some pictures with cross stitch handiwork and embroidery. I really like that kind of stuff. I feel that is becoming a lost art, all handiwork like that and am starting to collect those things.

That was a late night and then yesterday we went and met up with one of Terry's close friends that live in Washington DC. David comes to town every year and we meet him at his hotel at the Plaza and go out to eat and he truly wine's and dines us. We started the evening out, or rather late afternoon, with watching DVD's of their family as they were growing up. It was so much fun because we saw people that we know from the Garden City area.

Then we went to Lidia's to eat Italian food and let me tell you, I will never look at Italian food the same again. We drank some wonderful red wine during dinner and then when we finished we drank some Grappa. Like David said, if you want to clean the radiator out on your car you should use Grappa. He explained to me that the Italians did not waste anything. After they make their wine there would be the left over pulp, seeds, skins and stems and they would ferment that part with yeast, strain it and make Grappa. Woo whee. It was warm and strong. Of course we had a dip of vanilla ice cream too along with a cup of decaf Espresso. Never thought I'd say that but it was great. David explained to me that it was authentic Italian Espresso. I was stuffed beyond words but it was wonderful.

Well, not much of an excuse but it is all I have. Partied like a rock star this weekend. LOL. Not really but did have a wonderful time and it is one of the many reason's why I love the holidays. Oh, and before I forget it my friend Patsy gave me one of the best presents I have ever gotten. The best along with the most thoughtful. I took her down to Lowry City a few months ago. She knows how much I love my roots and all my friends I grew up with. Anyway, she contacted my cousin and another friend and had them take her around and she captured some of the things that are the dearest part of my life. The farm I grew up at, my home mom and I moved to in town and other important landmarks. It almost made me cry, it was so nice. I absolutely loved it and cannot express in words how special it is for me. I am going to work it all up and make a special collage. I can't wait.

Well, I am going to get off here. Probably won't write tonight. Terry and I have lost a close friend in a horrific car wreck in Garden City and tonight is family night or the wake, which ever you say. We are going and when I leave from there i am going straight to Springfield which will get me down there after 10 probably. Plus tomorrow I plan to take my computer into Best Buy to see if they can fix it. It is being a pain in the butt.

Bye everyone and remember to pray. Pray for the innocence that we lost Friday with all those babies that were massacred. I will get on that soap box sometime and I have quite a soap box on that. Mental Health services is what the problem is, one of the many problems though.

This was one of the most touching tributes I have ever heard on Saturday Night Live. It sent chills because you knew they were doing this tribute to the babies that were slain.

Enough Said

When are we going to realize that it has to do with the Mental Health services that have been cut during the Bush administration. When are we going to realize it isn't just gun control? When are we going to realize that this is unacceptable? 181 School shootings since Columbine. Ya think there's a problem there?

Imagine

You know, we spent the last two days in a training and learned a lot, but there were a couple of things she said that hit close to home for me. Do the best you can at what you do, and if you aren't happy with your job, move on because we all need to fit in a place that makes us happy and shine. There is so much to those two statements. It seems like today has been a real eye opener for me.

I went with a friend from work today and we did chart audits for the Missouri Infertility Prevention Program at a couple of sites in my area. She has been in this position for two or three years but has been with our Bureau for 16, I believe. After receiving her Masters this fall she has been seeking positions that follow her heart with the Rural programs that help the under served. She found such a program with Social Services. Social Services actually sought her out because they felt she was the best fit for their position. She will be working through a grant with Social Services that is looking at the economics in the rural areas and find solutions. So to speak. Not really exactly what she told me but close.

I am so excited for Penny because she will make an impact and if this isn't where she needs to be, it will be a first step towards her goal. Penny is a good person, smart, funny and has the drive needed to get the job done. Like I said I am so excited for her. Her options are open.

While Penny and I were out Terry called and told me one of his good friends was killed in a horrific car wreck in the Garden City area this morning. I knew Jack too, I have known him for 27+ years. I know his daughter Jill, I knew his son, rented a house from his mom and dad when they were still alive. I know his sister Linda and she is going to miss her brother so much. Jack took care of her, she lives in the Senior Housing after both of their parents passed on and walks around town picking up trash and aluminum cans. My heart has dropped today and all I can think of is the sadness that is going through everyone's heart right now.

With these two things going on it made me think. Why do we let things stress us out? Why do we let work make us sick because our supervisor is never happy with what we do? Why? Life is way to short not to be happy. Why do we give up on our dreams when we were so adamant about it when it is fresh in our mind? Why do we not pursue what we want to do instead of what we are stuck with doing? Why can't we break away when we need to?

These are questions that have been going through my head and heart all day. I don't have the answers and I don't expect you to have the answers. It is just something I need to get off my heart.

Love you guys and be classy!!!

Happy Feet

Watching the 121212 concert tonight. Some excellent artists. I was in Independence the last two days and went ahead and drove on down to Springfield. Turned on TV and here was this on. Glad I found it even though it was probably half way through it. Oh well. Alicia Keys is on right now. The Stones were on earlier and for a bunch of old English men, they didn't do to bad. Mick don't have the bounce he use to but do any of us???

Think I've finished my Madison shopping. Grandpa went shopping for her too. She's making a pretty good haul but that is what it is all about. Well, Jesus' birth is what it's all about but the magical part for the children too.

Going to get off of here and do some weaving. Talk more tomorrow. One of these days I will get real philosophical, just haven't been feeling it for a while but can see it upon the horizon. LOL.

Forgiveness is the key

At another training. You'd think after all these trainings I would learn something. Went Christmas shopping and got a few more things to stuff Miss Madison's stocking. Can't wait, gotta think of something to get her mom and dad. Josh and Jenny. Last year was such a wham, didn't think of that. Jenny got me the neatest present. It was like one of those Scentcy scent lights but wasn't made by Scentsy. I loved it. My apartment smells so good.

Closer it gets to Christmas the more stressed I get. I try not let it get me like that but it does. Probably does most except those that start shopping the day after Chrismas and picks up gifts all year long. They are the ones that tell me, yeah I finished my shopping in October. BAH HUMBUG!!!

Getting off of here. Stay Classy.

It's gettin' close.

When I went over to my friend Carole's house Saturday to make Terry's bracelet she had taped last weeks show, "The Voice". There is a lot of talent but I really enjoyed this guy, Nicholas David. He is really good in my eyes. I hope he gets it but they are down to 4 singers and there are a couple more I like too but this guy has it all going on in my eyes.

Temps were down to 29* today. Brrr. Terry came running into the house about dusk and told me to come out and look. There were two deer grazing in the filed next to our house. Then looking out the living room window there were two more grazing right at our property line. It is always so cool to watch the wildlife.

Got Madison's Christmas present tonight. Can't wait to give it to her. She'll love it, I am sure. Of course I have been buying off and on most of the year. She is so much fun to shop for. Can't wait to see her.

Well, gonna get off here. Michael Buble's Christmas show is getting ready to come on. You know the scoop,,,stay classy.

Rippit

As Terry and I was having our Sunday afternoon drive around town we noticed some landmarks we'd never seen before. There were some houses off the city golf course we hadn't seen. Upon checking it out there were three brand new homes behind our property that we had never seen or knew that they were building. We have a tree line behind us that has a small lake. I had seen where they were developing a housing addition back there but never really paid much attention. They are beautiful homes and are sure they are going for a pretty price. As my mom would always go, "How much they stick ya for???"

I hate seeing development back there because of the wildlife we see coming from that tree line. You can also hear coyotes howling away from there. One morning I woke up to let Lamar out and there were about 6 deer out in the pasture grazing. I've even seen a red fox sleeking around out there. :o( One of the many reasons I love this house we live in, I can see wildlife and still feel I live in the country.

Got quite a bit done on my afghan I'm working on. Almost have the teddy bears done except found a screw-up I did and will have to "rip-it" out. The mascot for Swedish Weaving is a frog and on the frog it says, "rip-it". LOL. I do hope to get a lot done this winter. I'm fired up now anyway.

Well, going to get off here. Have two days training with CDC on Tuesday and Wednesday in Independence so get to stay home until around noon on Tuesday. Am excited about that.

Stay Classy!!!

Carol of the Bells

Well, I probably should change the background on my blog but by the time I get in the mood to do it it will be time to switch it to Spring. I am getting tired of it though. We'll see, one of these days it will be changed and there ya go.

The closer we get to Christmas the nuttier I get. I posted a really good pic the other day on FaceBook. Made me think of myself a little at times. Of course we all can relate to it and if not you are in denial big time lady!!!

Got my Swedish Weaving back out and started working on it again. Went over to Carole's and we sat, visited, watched TV and "Got our weave on!!!" Got Terry's dog tag back and made his Vietnam Vet bracelet. He really likes it. If I can get it off of him I will take a picture of it and post it on here.

I really hope I get some of the projects I have started finished. I may. I have the time now at the apartment and I try to make myself get off of here around 8, if not earlier.

32 years ago today John Lennon was murdered. I remember what I was doing and where I was. I was living in Pittsburg Kansas and the guy I was living with, we were sitting in the living room and the news came on, announcing that John Lennon had been murdered. It was cold, I remember that. Our town we lived in, the college held a candle light vigil. We didn't go but it was a sad time. Think we'd wished it'd been Yoko. That was bad, probably not but you know what I mean.

Well, I'm outta here. The picture I have posted below is made out of coffee beans. People are so talented out there. Talk to you tomorrow everyone.

Far From the Tree

Home for the weekend. Won't leave until early Thursday morning. Have to be in the city, as in Kansas City, Tuesday and Wednesday so get to be home. Digging it.

Not much going on today or tonight. Am just thankful for all I have. Friends, family and...well, guess that's it.

My cousin, Carol, sent me a video one day this week that really touched my heart. I forwarded it to my co-workers and other board members from an organization I belong to. If this doesn't touch you nothing will. As Carol said, "It was an amazing invitation to consider a lot of questions about diversity, and about cultural and personal change." Enjoy as I did. Click on the link.

Far From the Tree

As they say, "In the end the old school ways always work. And always remember where you come from!" :o) Watching stupid "Duck Dynasty". That show cracks me up.

I'm outta here. Enjoy the moment because you will never get it back!!!

Love the Charlie Brown Christmas Dance.

Oronogo

Went to a small town in MO, Oronogo MO, Population 2500, a small lead mining town. Went to the place I was looking for and talked to the guy, as I was heading back out to the highway I saw the neatest little building. Stopped, looked inside, talked to the neighbor and asked what the building use to be and she said a train depot. It was completely cleaned out with a cement floor. No walls, just the outside walls. I was like, if I had that it would be full of plants and maybe even make it into a novelty shop. Craft shop or whatever type of shop I wanted. I loved it and it was so taken care of.

Pretty cool, huh? Just picture it with all kinds of plants hanging on the outside and a bench on the side there. I would love, love, love it. This is my dream place to have if I could have it after I retire. I love those old building like that and this one has been taken care of. The roof was one of those metal roofs that you see on houses and buildings now. Yeah, I'm digging it.

Ok, so now that we know what I want to do with my life right now. LOL. I'm always dreaming, guess I'm a dreamer. Better to be that than other things that shouldn't be mentioned. LOL.

Well, I'm getting off of here. Talk to you later. This is one of my "favorist" Christmas Songs. I'll probably be posting more since it is like 16 days until Christmas.

Flower's in your hair!!!

As I sit here trying to think of something to write that isn't the same as I have always wrote. Well, it's hard. Weather is still unseasonable and will be for a while. Work, well no more needs to be said about that because everyone knows how I feel about that. Heard about a position that is opening up in the office I left in Independence but I'm not even dangerously close to qualifying for it. Still hanging in there though.

Found out that the family is for sure having a White Elephant/Ugly Christmas sweater party the 15th. That will be fun except I don't have an ugly sweater or a Christmas sweater of any kind. Not sure how I am going to come across one. i would like to find one that is 10x's to big for me, wear some tights and wear it as a dress. I have a lot of good ideas but will have to scout out for one next year.

Also found out that we are having a Christmas Eve at my Great Nephew's house, David. He is such a sweetie. Him and Sherri, my Great Niece always have held a special place in my heart. They were the first babies we had in the family. And they are a mess, both of them. Heck what am I talking about, they all are messes. :o) Anyway, David Lee is having it catered through Jack Stack BBQ and will be so much fun. I am glad we are doing something because this is going to be the first Christmas without Brandon. We have a "family" tradition that we had started and won't be able to do it this year. :o( LOL. I know he will miss it.

Going to see that beautiful granddaughter too. Miss Madison. I have been picking her up things all along. Today got her some neat things too. It is so much fun buying for a little girl. Wish little Miss Emma was closer. I love the babies!!!

Well, I'm getting off here. Will say more tomorrow I am sure. Good night.

Survival and Peace, that's what it's all about!!!

I have to say I got a lot accomplished today at work. Always feel better when that happens. Anyway have somewhat of a handle on things,in my own mind anyway. Everything will be better and especially after the first of the year. Everything as far as work and even things down here at the apartment. Long story and not enough time to tell it. Needless to say the smaller apartment is a blessing in disguise.

Going to try and get some things done around here after I get this written. I plan to do some weaving. Showed my bracelets that I made this weekend at work and have an order to do one. Can't wait to get Terry's stuff in and do his. I will have to take a picture of it and show it to you guys when I get it done.

They are called survivor bracelets. They are made from 7ply paracord and can hold up to 550 pounds. Each of those bracelets have 8 foot of cord to them. If needed you can unravel the bracelet and use the cord for anything from saving a life to pulling a stalled car. :o) I can't wait to finish Terry's Vietnam Vet one and show you guys. It is cool. If you want one hit me up. I can make them for $15.00 and not sure how much shipping will be but shouldn't be to much.

Anyway, that is it for the night. You guys take care and remember...

Life is Good

Well, my computer is still messed up and I still need to take it in to be checked but of course I would rather procrastinate and complain. This freaks me out a little. n. Plus I seem to forget about it when it is not in my presence....so that is why I didn't type anything yesterday. It's a long drawn out saga. I'll save ya on that one.

Weather has been unseasonably warm. Not sure what is going on but I think I'd rather have our cold weather we are suppose to have this time of year. Plus bugs need to die so they don't grow up as humongous beasts. :o)

Watching rerun of Big Bang Theory. I love that show and sometimes think the reruns are funnier. They couldn't of found a better cast of individuals to do this. This is the series I am watching tonight and where else can we love this beautiful song. Click on: Soft Kitty Love it!!!

Going to get off of here and watch my Monday night TV shows. Will talk tomorrow.

Warm

Went to Columbia and had a blast. Made bracelets, visited, ate White Chili, brownies, chips, laughed, cried and visited with some really good friends. We will do it again sometime soon.

Computer is acting stupid tonight. I'm ready to call quits on it and get me an IPad. May do it. Of course may have to wait until it gets closer or after Christmas. We'll see.

Warm weather here for the first of December. It was 61* at 7am. Terry said he'd never think he'd mow his grass on the first of December but he did. Today when I went to pick up Carole to go to Columbia she goes, "Isn't it beautiful?" I said yeah but a little humid. She goes, did you ever think you'd hear yourself say that on December 1. Wierd weather we are having here. Nope.

Getting off of here. I am tired of listening to sad stuff on TV and I am tired. A Chiefs player shot his girlfriend a number of times in front of his mom in KC, went to Arrowhead and killed himself when the police came to arrest him in front of his coach and manager. Sad, sad. 3 month old baby that is an orphan now and will never know her mama or daddy.

Signing off. Stay classy people.
