How's this one???

Sometimes it is necessary to limit or eliminate your contact with certain individuals who bring you more misery than peace and do not reflect or allow you to be the person that you truly are or aspire to become. Instead, surround yourself with positive thinkers who are not always creating drama. Choose people who make your day brighter simply by being around them. Find those who you admire; you are proud to know; and who support, motivate and encourage you to grow.

I found this today on Facebook and posted it on my wall. There are a lot of good inspirational pieces on there and so many of them hit close to home. We all need to remember this through our walk in life and be a positive influence on everyone we come across. Those that are negative, we need to walk away and not look back, looking toward the positives in our lives.

As I was looking at this quote I was like, hmmm I could do that vine with the daisy's on it. I always wished that I had been given the opportunity to take art in high school but our art teacher moved my 8th grade year and we had to be like Freshman to take High School Art. Of course Lowry City being such a small school they didn't rehire an art teacher. I was able though to take Creative Writing class and loved that class with a passion. I've taken various art classes through the years but never really did much with it. Friends that see my doodling say I am quite the artist and I'm like WHATEVER!!! Do enjoy the arsty fartsy stuff though.

My day was awesome. When I left home to come down here I stopped off and saw my son. He is so Josh, that is all I can say about him. Love him to death and he loves me. Sometimes I think I may have been to close with him but really I haven't. We have a bond that no one will ever be able to take away from us, I'm mom and I always will be. Love my baby boy!!!

Then after I finished there I ran over to my friend Sarah's house. She is my mentor with this Mary Kay stuff. She motivated me and made me feel pretty good about it. She has a little girl that turned 1 this weekend and that Riley Joy is the cutest of the cutest. She always has a smile on her face and when I looked down at her she had a smile from ear to ear and never quite. Adorable, can't wait for grandbabies, I love them babies. Sarah, as I said, made me feel pretty good and then I left her house and headed to my friend Gloria's. I had some Mary Kay for her. She has moved out in the country and it has to be one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. I loved it and she is going to have me coming by a lot more!!! The scenery across the lake is something else. She is going to have a party for me Sunday so I plan to get some awesome pics and will post the scenery!!!

Went out to eat when I got down here tonight and went to Ruby Tuesdays!!! They have the best fish and I ordered the Herb Crusted Talipia but the Cajun Talipia looked fantastic. May order that next time, I do have to say Ruby Tuesday is one of my favorite chain restaurant's. I love their salad bar too. I go weigh in tomorrow at WW so we'll see how I did. Hope good, was going to work out tonight but have a small headache. Oh well, I'll take it the best I can.

Tornado warnings and flash flood warnings are out and about tonight in this neck of the woods. Hoping it just rains. Got a lot last night. Going to head off here and will write more tomorrow, maybe. Terry is coming down to stay a couple days with us, guess I said that last night, anyway might not write as much tomorrow night. But will post.

The Past is Gone.

You can let the past screw with your head all you want but all we have is right now!!!

I don't know why I love the marquee look but it is so much fun. When I took the class at UMKC a couple years ago I was so pumped when all I had to do was type a few codes in and walla!!! There ya go!!! I am so easily entertained.

The saying is one they used today after a story on Sunday Morning. The story was on The Beach Boys and at the end of the segment the reporter said it. I thought it was so cool and hit so close to home that I put it on my Facebook page. It doesn't matter what has happened years ago, that is gone and there isn't anything anyone can do to change it. The only thing you can change is today so don't let your past eat you up. Let your present nourish you and make you a new and better person. Terry and I both live this as much as we can, we don't let our past interfere with our present time together. My past doesn't matter to Terry and visa verse.

A friend of mine gave me a lead on a really good book that goes with that quote. The book is "The Power of Now, A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment" by Eckhart Tolle. He shows readers how to recognize themselves as the creators of their own pain, and how to have a pain-free existence by living fully in the present. I know so many including myself that should read this book. Ordered it through Amazon and am looking forward to reading it. Was going to do AudioBook and may still since the paperback is $1.97.

Had my typical Sunday meal today. Roast, potatoes and carrots. Using my Dutch Oven, I floured, salted, peppered and browned the roast in canola oil. Put about a cup of water, 3 cloves of crushed garlic and half an onion over the top. Stuck it in the oven at about 350* and cooked it for about an hour and a half, put potatoes and carrots in there, finishing it off in maybe about an hour. It was really good. Josh came later and ate. I still can smell the food, Terry told me one thing about Sundays sure do make the house smell good. :o)

Hope everyone has a wonderful night and a splendid day tomorrow. Can't wait to get to Springfield this week. It's been a heck of a weekend up in these parts. Terry is coming down to be with us for a couple of days and it will be so good to have him down there.

I want to thank everyone that have given me such awesome feedback about reading my blog and tell me that it is the highlight of their evenings or mornings when I post stuff. It's nothing great, it is just my thoughts, ideas and things that happen in my life. I am going to be keeping on keeping on. Enjoy to the fullest friends!!! Sit down, have a cup of coffee and reflect. :o)

Just another day

Started my Mary Kay business, thinking it will give me some extra money to vacation with. It was fun and have another party tomorrow. Today my Director helped me out and did it but tomorrow I will do it alone. It will be fine and you learn from trial and error. LOL. One thing about it I know lots of people so there ya go. Anyone want a free facial with no strings attached give me a holler.

Sounds like we are having rain in the forecast and we could sure use it. Terry came in last night after mowing before the storms blew in and he was telling me how dry it is outside. I can tell by the way my hosta's look, bless their little hearts. Pretty parched looking.

Did about 10 sit ups this morning and you'd think I'd done about 50. Going to go back in here in a minute and try some more. Alot easier on the exercise ball.

One of my favorite followers, Phyllis wrote something on my Facebook page that I loved. She is such an awesome lady and I have known her for quite a while. "God is the only one that is supposed to judge you. You are a Christian if you believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins, period ! There is no degree of being a Christian. Either you are or your not."I thanked her and said I was a Christian. She goes, "Well, I thought you were!"

I'm needing to finish up that baby afghan for my friend. Better get off here and get it done. We are having a graduation, a wedding and a new baby coming up in our lives so I have a lot of afghan's I want to get done. Need to work harder on them and plan too. Plus Christmas coming up too.

Work In Progress!!! Both me and the Blog

Was told this week that I am not a Christian or I would not post what I have posted on my blog. This confuses me, I cannot think of anything that I have ever posted on here that has been unchristian like. Definition of a Christian is someone that is decent, respectable, a person who believes in and follows Jesus Christ. A person who possesses Christian virtues, esp practical ones. I try to follow my beliefs and Jesus' teachings but I am human and I stumble. I do at times wish I was a better Christian but as I have always said and will always confess "I am work in progress". Saint's have a past and Sinners have a future.

Love my family and my friends!!! Glad I'm not a total idiot either. Been dealing with that all week and it is time to sit back and be happy with my life!!!

Been reading about blogging and really need to find a niche. Think I have figured it out but going to have to work on it a little. I will keep this blog and not change it at all. I have a small following on this silly thing and it has been teaching me how to do this. You guys are the best. I have my critics and I have my fans, heck the critics are fans too though, aren't they. But of course I so lovingly call them stalkers until they got all bent out of shape because I called them that so now I lovingly call them lurkers. LOL.

Royals are on and Terry is "belly up to the bar" watching them. Got scolded last night because I didn't say a thing about them winning two games in a roll!!! Hoping tonight makes three. Billy Butler (My son's man) has hit two out of the ball park. I really, really like Billy and his wife. They do some awesome stuff in the Kansas City area. He's a good person. And his wife isn't one of those knockout model type people. She is pretty but she is down to earth type person. Type of person I love.

Remember when I told you about an older woman that I went to her house to talk to her because she was HIV+? Her husband told me to get off their property and they were real private. Well, his report came over my desk today and he also has HIV. She told me that he broke his neck last year, has crones disease and now they both have HIV. I wish they would let me help them. I prayed for the both of them today. You can't help people that don't want help and they are against anything that goes with the State.

Well, I'm signing off. This is going to be another busy weekend.

Living the Dream

I have got to tell you the cutest little story that I heard today. I have this friend, Amanda and she has a son that is probably 4. I'm not sure but somewhere around that age. Little guy is adorable and his name is Blaze. Todays weather was beautiful, in the upper 70's, low 80's. Well today he comes into the house and goes, "It's quite handsome today mom." LOL. How cute. She said she is always saying, "It's gorgeous out" or "It's beautiful." Blaze tells her, "Guys don't use girl words when they talk." Leave it to a child.

You know, I feel I need to bring this up again. If I offend anyone with my blog I am sorry but I am going to write what I want to write about, who I want to write about and where I want to write about. As it says under the picture at the top, if you don't like it go get your own blog and post your own thoughts. My husband has been reading my blogs since the beginning and has never been offended and he is the only person I care about offending. Just like a number of my friends that have given me feedback on the content, they love it. It's a little like a daily Christmas letter!!! PLUS, I am extremely proud of my family, immediate and extended, and will brag about them anytime I want to. No one will tell me what to not say, I will use my own best judgement on that. That's all I'm going to say about that.

Went and worked out tonight. Did 15 on the elliptical and 15 on the treadmill. Tore this little fat girl up but it is okay. I'll sleep good tonight. Laura, my co-worker, and I went over to a little coffee shop across the square from where we work and bought some coffee and a piece of dark chocolate. It was fabulous and so satisfying. It was 77% dark chocolate and with that and the coffee it was such a treat. We decided we are going to remember that and do that more. Springfield has the coolest little bistro's and coffee shops in the downtown area. Brandon has been telling me about this Piano Bar I am going to have him take me to. I love Piano Bar's. I know, I'm ate up but I really do like downtown Springfield.

Something Weight Watchers said Monday that I saved in my phone so I can look at it periodically is:

  • Make a list of positive qualities about yourself
  • Pay yourself a compliment daily
  • Do things you know will make you feel better about yourself
  • Give yourself regular treats (a little like Pavlov's dog!!!)
  • Spend time with those who care about you
  • Avoid situations that reinforce self doubt
  • Try a little kindness for yourself

I have been working on this list so I feel better and more motivated but everyone needs to do this in their lives anyway. We can be our own worse enemy!!!

Well, I am going to sign off. I am going to get some stuff done before I go back home tomorrow. It seems weird that I am going to be leaving tomorrow to go home. Next week I will be here Tues-Friday. Terry says he may come down here with Lamar for a couple of days. Cool. Love my guys. LOL. One of the things I read in Blogging for Dummies is don't be to mushy or constant complaining. I try not to but hey, what can I say.

Peace, Love and Tranquility. ...glenda

Will we win or will we loose.

Well, I am going to make this an early write and then I am hitting the bed. Between last night and today this little fat girl is toast. I got up around 7 this morning and had to be in Raymore at 9. Only like 20-30 minutes from home but still. I wish I didn't have to be anywhere. Saturday I will sleep in. Yeah, me!!!

I wrote an email to Connie, Brandon's mom to let her know that we are planning a graduation party for him. Master's is a really big thing and he is excited about having a party. When I mentioned to him that his dad and I were going to do this he was like, okay. I thought, he's okay with it but not real excited. WRONG. He's excited, he has talked to me about every day, letting me know everyone that he wants to come. He wants everyone from his family of course and friends. He told me to invite a bunch of people because he doesn't want no one to show up. LOL. I told him there will be people show up. It's going to be free food. Terry always wants food. Haven't decided what the cuisine will be yet but am hoping we can have chocolate sheet cake as the cake. So here you go people, June 6, 2012 at the Harrisonville Community Building from 1-4. It will all be good.

I've got something cool for you to do. Go to Google and type in the word Askew. Took me a minute to see it but it is so dang cool. Google engineers do some of the neatest stuff. I've done other things that they have had us do and it's been cool too. I changed to Bing though instead of Google and absolutely love Bing. The different pictures they have on their facepage is so cool. Today is a close up of a prickly pear cactus. You you hold your cursor in the i in the right hand lower corner it tells you what the picture is of.

I really, really like the fm station on the KC radio station, Alice 102.1 I wish we had a station like that down here in Springfield, we have Alice 95.5 but it is more like 93.3 in Kansas City. I like the kind of music they play up in KC and find different musicians I never knew and some I forgot about. I love music and love hearing new artists. I finally remembered to bring up the website so I could listen to it live down here!!! Awesome.

Heading off of here. Going to try and get to bed a decent time tonight. Will call Terry here in a few. Talked to him earlier and he said he was going to see if the Royals can make it one more lose. Just checked the score though and it looks promising. 4-0, top of the 4th in our favor. Bless their pea picking hearts. :o) I'll call Terry here in a few. Good night all.

Good day but a tiring one.

Can I say tired??? Guess I can since I just did. I woke up at 5am this morning and left the house around 6:30, drove close to three hours to Jefferson City. Usually takes about 2.5 hours but today the highway out of Harrisonville is closed so I went down and around to get back on 7 and forgot about the construction that is going on in the town North of us. Made it to the meeting though and was the first one there. Then when I got home Josh and I ran over to my friends house in LyCygne Kansas. That was another hour over there and hour home. I have been on the road for 7 hours and wonder why I am tired.

I told Terry I am going to have to walk 12 miles today to counteract what I've ate. It is hard when you are out like this because you have to go out and eat. Steak and Shake at noon, Sonic coming home and then Josh was hungry so ate McDonald's for supper. :o( It's okay, I plan to hit the gym hard tomorrow night at the apartments.

Today was a nice day in jefferson city. We were at the Runge Conservation Center and those are always the nicest place to have meetings. They are free and are always in a beautiful place. One of my favorites is the one in St. Joseph area. It sits on the Missouri River and is absolutely beautiful. I went to a Hepatitis C training there.

These outside pots at the Conservation Center were really interesting to me. One of my mom's favorite flowers were the bleeding hearts. That is what she would call them and they are a Native Plant in the Midwest. I did not know you could grow them in a pot. I am going to try it this year if I can. Pretty cool.

Well, I am so tired and am going to head to bed here pretty quick. One thing about it, leaving early I got to see a beautiful sunrise.

Lookin' Good!!!

Well, well, well, well. I didn't tell you guys but a couple weeks ago I rejoined Weight Watchers. Before I met Terry I belonged and had lost 52 pounds. Was feeling really good about myself and got lazy, thinking I could do it myself, plus it took me a year to loose that 52 pounds. That was 2 years ago and I gained 40 back. Well, tired of trying to do it myself so here I am. First week I didn't do so good, I had gained 0.6 pounds and was like dang it!!!! So this week I played it completely by their rules and have lost 2.8 pounds this week. Yeahhhhh!!! So to reward myself I started my exercise regime and walked for 30 minutes. Not sure how far, I really need to pull my pedometer out of the junk drawer and dust it off. OF course have to figure out where the heck it is. :o) Anyway, it's a long hard battle but it's all good.

Was checking into joining a health center that is at St. John's Hospital down in Springfield. They have water Zumba and that sounds like so much fun. I may still do it but won't be able to join until next week sometime since I will only be down there one day this week.

Today Josh and I were talking about things that are going on in his life and his really good friends that he has and he referenced that God has really blessed him in his life. It makes me so proud of him when he brings up that and I don't really know what people do that don't have some type of Faith in their lives. I think it would be so lonely and no hope, no hope for eternal life, no hope that everything is okay and just totally lost.

Well, I'm going to sign off. I am in Jefferson City all day tomorrow and then will come home. I have something to take care of Wednesday morning and then off to Springfield Wednesday afternoon. Brandon called to see when I was going to be home. I think he does that so he can clean the house up, LOL. He told me to stay classy. LOL. I thanked him and told him I didn't really think I was. That child along with my Josh cracks me up!!! Good boys, both of them.

Good night everyone!!!

Slow News Day

Slow news day. It was just Terry and I today so lunch was easy. Was going to fix a full fledged meal with the boys were going to show up but haven't heard anything all day. Got the ole electric griddle out and fixed tenderloins. No oil, no breading, just seasoning of garlic powder and pepper. Grilled them on there and then sliced green zucchini and yellow squash and cooked that on there too along with fresh asparagus. Put tator tots in the oven and opened a can of green beans. Also sliced up a red pepper and just put that in a bowl raw. Good and healthy.

Had my sweatshirt hoodie on all day. It has been chilly as all get out. Terry is out watering the yard, he's a brave man. LOL.

Well, going to cut it off short tonight again. Busy week and won't be going to Springfield until Wednesday night. Have to be in Jefferson City all day Tuesday and Wednesday I have some personal stuff to take care of so there ya go.

Saturday, April 21, 2012

Good, good day!!! First of all my son's best friend is home from Afghanistan and they have been together this weekend. They are at the Royals game tonight but Terry and I met them in Lee's Summit today. They are a couple of handsome men, you be the judge.
One to the left is my son Josh, the one to the right is his buddy Josh Hopkins aka Hoppy.

Terry and I ran up to the Casino today to eat lunch and went down stairs but didn't win anything. Enough to tease us but we left. We haven't been for a couple of years so this was just a little treat. I told him we should have went to the stores and bought us something instead and he just laughed. He said I was right. Of course silly man, I'm always right!!!

Not sure what tomorrow is going to hold. Need to go to church but the two Josh's might come by and crash tonight. . Then I will feed them tomorrow for Sunday dinner.

Well, going to sign off. Not much happening. Talk to you guys later.

Pictures Galore!!!

Remember when I posted a picture of a tree that is in our parking lot at work and I asked you guys if you knew what kind it was??? Well, my camera phone made it to little and so I had my real camera today and took a picture of them where you could see them. If anyone knows what kind of tree it is let me know. They are really cool, are in Springfield MO and we are in the 6B zone if that might help you.
The building I work in is the skyscraper looking one in the back. Just thought I'd throw that in. The parking garage I only use during ice, snow, extreme heat and torrential rains!!!
I also have the pictures of the Master Gardener banquet. I am so excited about that whole deal. The tables were beautiful. Wish I had of taken a picture of all the tables. A veteran Master Gardener adopted a table and could do anything they wanted in the decorations and set ups. They were so cool and next year I will take a picture of all the tables. My friend Sherry took the classes this year and this was like the awards banquet. Quite spectacular and fun, fun, fun. Made me feel good and I will have fun with Sherry in this organization!!! I've been a Master Gardener since 1999. Here ya go with the pictures.
I liked the earthy feel this herb table gave you. Terry calls me his country girl and you know what they say, you can take the girl out of the country but you can't take the country out of the girl.
Are those Iris' not absolutely beautiful!!! I loved the garden fairy's that this table had and the theme gave you such a soothing feeling. The tables had gifts for each guest. I can't remember what the gifts were at all the tables.
This one was my favorite. When you walked into the room this was the first table that you saw. It was just breathtaking!!!
This was the table that we sat at. It was so pretty. The gift we got was the little plants that you see sitting at each place sitting. It is Garden Cress and said it is good in salads and sandwiches. Also received a sweet basil plug. I can't wait to put them on my deck at my apartment. I also got a tomato plant as a door prize. I plan to try my luck on it too. I have never been lucky with tomato plants in containers but know some that have. Mine are usually to legging and don't produce good. Any suggestions, please let me know on that too.
Sherry's graduating class. There were 55 of them but I only wanted to get her. See the lady in front of me with the white blouse. From her left shoulder there is a lady with silver hair and a man sitting next to her. Sherry is the little spit fire you see standing behind them and between them. She is awesome. I had so much fun and am looking forward to my tenure with them. They are an awesome active organization.

Well, I was doing good with the diet and all and what does my husband do. Buys a half gallon of the sugar free chocolate ice cream that is so good and I had a huge bowl. I have GOT to loose weight this week. I have GOT to start moving because with eating correctly, exercise and drinking lots of water it can be done.

Didn't fix any supper tonight. This morning all I had to eat was a banana and a thing of Strawberry Activia. Never really got hungry and was coming home and was like, I'd better eat. I knew Terry had went with his friend today and they'd ate at their favorite quantity food place, Ryan's Buffet. So, I stopped at Sonic and had a grilled chicken wrap and a Route 44 Coke Zero so the calorie intake was pretty good so the ice cream was okay. TOMORROW, I am getting fresh fruits and veggies for us. LOL.

Well, not much more to write on. Tomorrow is going to be a full day though. It's okay and will be nice. Of course I may decide to just stay home and work with my plants and out in the yard. That sounds like fun too. Talk to you guys tomorrow.

Can You Believe It???

For those of you that are not on FaceBook this comment won't make any sense to you at all but for those followers that comment, like and just plain downright surprise the heck out of me that they are following this thing, I won't be able to post unless I do it right now. I have a Master's Gardener's Banquet (remember???) that I am going to tonight and probably won't get home until around 9ish. Maybe, not sure. It may be earlier. Anyway, here I am.

Got in trouble because I didn't post how I fix my baked fish and scalloped potatoes. Well, I have to recipe, I just throw it together. There are two ways I love making my potatoes and the first is how I do it the most. Butter the baking dish which is my square one. Put a layer of raw potatoes, salt and pepper, about 6 pats of butter, sliced onion and then maybe 1/4 cup of flour and a lot of times just half or a 1/4 cup, then either 4 slices of cheese or Velveeta. Used both last night because I needed to get rid of some of the sliced cheese that was in the fridge. Repeat layers and I usually only make 2 layers. Used maybe 4 taters. Pour milk to about 1/2 way up the pan. Put in a 350* oven uncovered and bake for maybe an hour. Depends but usually shoot for an hour. I let it sit for about 5 minutes or so before I serve it.

The other way is parboil the sliced taters, do a cheese cream sauce on the stove by doing the rue first with equal amounts of butter and flour, then pour in milk and chunk up some cheese in it and pour it over the potatoes in the baking dish. Doesn't take as long but seems to me like a lot more work. I'm lazy and the other recipe is how my mama cooked them and Josh loves them like that.

Then the fish. I lay the filets out on a cookie sheet and put about 3 pats of butter on top of them and put salt and pepper on them. Put them in the oven about 15 minutes if frozen, shorter if not. I just test it until the fish flakes off by the fork. People over bake fish and it is so nasty that way. I love for my fish not to taste like fish and this works. Brandon loves my fish. We had Swai last night but last week I cooked fresh Alaskan Salmon. God it was good!!! I like to buy it on sale fresh when I can and I do. Yummy, yum, yum. Thanks now I'm hungry. LOL.

Welp, gotta go. If I get back in time I'll write more. Later.

Just Wondering What Kind it Is.

Anybody know what kind of tree this is? It is in the middle part of our parking lot. They have tree's and wildflowers and native grasses growing in there and I don't remember these tree's being this awesome last year. Maybe they were, but like I said, I can't remember.

Crap, you can't see it very good. Sorry. It has cluster of mauve colored berries. Tomorrow I get closer and take a better picture and maybe you can see it. :o(

Work, work, work today. Not much accomplished but yet a lot. Came home and tried my hand at homemade banana bread. My oven is hotter than what you set it at and I keep forgetting to pick up an oven thermometer at Wal-Mart. Anyway, needless to say I got the bread a little browner than it should have been. Going to try my hand at it another time and maybe put the oven at a lower temperature. Made baked fish, scalloped potatoes, green beans for Brandon and I had fish, brown rice and a baked sweet potato along with the green beans. Pretty good too. He's so busy studying that I told him he needed some "brain food". The crunch is coming down, he graduates in like a month and the stress factor is rising!!!

Since I stayed home on Tuesday and worked this makes for a short week down here. I have a friend at work that went through the Master Gardener Program down here and she graduated a couple weeks ago. Anyway they are having a banquet tomorrow night over by St. John's and I told her I would go with her. I think it will be fun. I have been wanting to become a MG down here since I have been through the program and became certified in 1999 but I just haven't done it yet. This will be my opening maybe.

Well, Brandon just left be with some friends tonight and do a little socialization. Proud of the kid, he studies way to hard. Well maybe not to hard but he always has his nose to the grindstone. Going to get off of here, maybe do a little weaving.

Last night when I posted my blog on Facebook it didn't show up until the next day. Not sure what was going on with that. Hmmm. Well, anyway. Talk to you tomorrow.

Skies the limit,,,,maybe!!!

As I was driving back down to Springfield today the clouds were absolutely beautiful. I couldn't believe how big and white they were in one of the most beautiful blue skies I have ever seen. I took my new phone and was going to take some pictures just to see how they would turn out. Well, someone I put it on video and have a couple of hilarious video's plus a couple of beautiful pictures of the clouds. I will see if I can't post them tonight and if not then, oh well sorry....take my world for it, they were hilarious.

Well, going to have to work on the video picture for a while. Getting tired of this trying to figure it out. I will but not now. So, instead, here's a picture of my baby boy. Ain't he a cutie??? Needs to shave and needs a good woman but besides that, I love him to death. Posted this pic on Facebook and got a lot of likes. He's a hoot and a hollar!!!

I get in one of those bummed out moods when I come down to Springfield during the week. I miss my home, my husband and my pets. Guess I probably have already said that but I do. Except it's nice to make it down here and Brandon is here but who knows what he is going to do after he graduates next month.

Josh and I went today and ate at the pizza place down the road from the house. Mazzio's. It is good, we both really like that place but as usual I ate a lot. We both did have a huge salad though before we ate pizza and other stuff. The salad was good for us but it filled me up and I didn't want supper tonight. As I was sitting here watching tv I decided I wanted something to eat but as you guys may know, I am trying to eat healthier. So, I go to the fridge to see what I have. Cauliflower, Broccoli, green onions, radishes, lettuce, cheese, Canadian bacon and some hard boiled eggs. What do I get to snack on but the radishes. I had cleaned them and put them in a container of water before I left last week. Now I have ate almost all of them and now the next step isn't going to be pretty. Indigestion BIG TIME!!! Oh well, Brandon is in his room studying and I am getting ready to go into mine and do some weaving. I know, I know....TMI. Sorry.

This is one of those nights that it is going to be tough getting much in. I wish we got the Royals down here but this is Cardinal's world. These people only see red, they see no blue. To bad, I do like both teams but like watching the Royals more. Oh well, Terry will let me know how everything goes.

Gonna get off here and hopefully I can get the video's and pictures loaded on here. Talk to you guys later.

Must be Bi-Polar

Down one day, up another. And I take meds!!! Oh well, here ya go!!!

Can I say an amazing day??? Guess I did, didn't I??? It has been a wonderful day and so many blessings have been bestowed upon my life. Love it so much when that happens. Found out we are going to be able to go on another family vacation this year, a lot like last years. For those of you that don't know what I am talking about, last year the 4 of us went to Memphis and had a fan frigging tastic time!!! Stayed at a really nice cabin on a lake outside of Memphis and had so much fun. Made memories for all of us. This year we plan to do the same, it will either be in May or June, not sure which. I will keep you updated as plans progress to when and where. Hmmm. One of the many things I love to do to make you just keep lurking. You notice I stopped calling you stalkers. Stalkers is a harsh sounding word, I like lurkers better. I also don't like the wording stepson or step mom, I prefer bonus son and bonus mom. Has a nicer ring to it and makes me feel proud. I heard someone else call it that the other day and I was like, "Rock On"!!! Have to thank my buddy Craig for that term though, he was the one that introduced it to me and I believe credit should go to the source. :o)

Josh's lug nuts had fallen off of his front wheel on his truck this weekend and he was all worried about getting it fixed. We both were like, this will probably cost $500 or more to figure out what is going on with it. Who knows. He'd been working on the front wheel, fixing it when the tie rods broke. He went and talked to a buddy of his that is a really well liked mechanic in our area and Chris told him it was probably just his lug nuts, he told him that you should tighten them like every 100 miles. That doesn't sound like much fun to me but whatever. Anyway, he put new lugs on (because he'd lost the others) and the fix is fixed, not costing him a dime. He had all the parts already. He said he felt like a doom ass because he knew that and I told him that was okay. We all forget stuff sometimes and are like, CRAP!!! I knew that. How many times have I done that??? I told him that this is something he will never forget and will always remember.

I have been nauseated all day though and not sure why. Terry was sick last night so I made him homemade chicken and noodles today and that is what we had for supper. We both feel a lot better. Whoops, better tell John and Paula how I made it. I had some bone chicken breasts I had bought and Terry fileted them for me one day so we could have chicken strips. There was a lot of meat left on the bones so I froze them and said I would make chicken and noodles sometime. I boiled the chicken this morning, removed it out of the broth and removed the meat off the bone. While I was doing that the broth was boiling and I poured in a bag of Reames Frozen Noodles, stirring to loosen them while they boiled and I was de-boning the chicken. As I was tossing the chicken into the broth and noodles I made a rue with butter and flour. What is a rue you ask??? It is equal amounts of butter and flour that you saute in a saucepan. I used 1/2 cup butter and 1/2 cup of flour. I put a little bit in to thicken up the broth. Then I poured milk into the chicken and noodles along with adding the rue, it was delish!!! Terry ran to the grocery store and bought some mashed potatoes from the deli people that was really good too. A little high but at least I didn't have to make them, I still didn't feel good. I feel a little rough now but nothing like earlier today.

I started my ancestry stuff again. I had an account with Ancestry.com back when I did it before and had lost it. I talked to my friend Becky, who is into it BIG TIME, told me she bit the bullet and joined and keeps all her family tree stuff in there. That way you never, ever loose it. I was so excited and finally did it today. They have a 14 day free trial time with it right now and then it's pretty cheap to join, anyway cheaper then working on it hard for 2-3 years and then the computer crash, getting your backup disc to read the info you'd backed up and nothing. Grrrr. Anyway I am really, really excited. Was looking at the site this evening before I started this and am pumped. Yes, one more thing I am into. I can't wait to retire so I can work on this stuff all the time. I would love to work in a Genealogy Library. LOL. Another dream..

Well, this weekend I hope to go to Lee's Summit to Longview and see the Flights of Fancy festival. What is that you ask??? Well, it is sponsored by the Kansas City Kite Club (KCKC) and it is fabulous. That is the club I am wanting to join and would love to become a part of, along with my friend Laurie. I know, my life evolves around my friends and my family. Doesn't make me a bad person at all, just a people person. LOL. Don't worry, my life is by far a perfect one, if I wrote all my woes you wouldn't follow me and read this. That's why some nights it's pretty tough to write at least two paragraphs let alone one. Anyway, I have always loved to fly kites and love to watch them fly so there ya go. Like hot air balloons to a lot but don't want to ride in one, just like watching them. One of these days I am going to go to Albuquerque, New Mexico to their hot air balloon festival. That may be another family vacation.

I didn't have to go down to Springfield today but will tomorrow. I have a couple of cases to run up here and another one on the way down there. Brandon called to check on me and I told him I wouldn't be down there until tomorrow. He goes, "and were you not going to tell me." I had been running Josh around today so he could get his truck fixed and had forgotten. That's the way I roll and I don't mean for it to roll that way at times, it just does.

Guess I'll get off here. Royals are playing the Tigers tonight. Score is tied 1-1 but Detroit has their pitcher Justin Verlander (Taco Bell commercial guy), the best of the league pitching tonight so Terry said it's scary. We are on at the top of the 5th though, so that's good. Cleveland wasn't good. They spanked us, ooo Detroit just brought 2 more in so now it's 3-1. Dang it. Oh well, still like the Royals no matter what but always have. When I was married to Josh's dad was when we won the World Series and he was as avid a Royals fan as Terry is. My dad loved baseball too but we listened to the Kansas City A's. I have a bat from bat day from the A's game. Pretty cool.

Well, going to get off here. I've wrote a book and really don't like writing this much. Sorry everyone. I will talk to you guys tomorrow.

Melancholy

As I sat here today, with a million things going through my mind and wondering about the what if's, when I should be thinking about the what is, it is making my anxiety run 90 to nothing. Sometimes the what is though worries you, making you think about the what if's. I have been told in my past that when I speak, I make no sense but within myself I make all kinds of sense. Can I help it if I make more sense when I write then when I talk. That is probably because when I talk I don't have the confidence that I have when sitting here typing on the computer or when I have a notebook and a pen in hand. Well, with that out of my system I will write now.

We are in the midst of watching Gran Torino with Clint Eastwood. I love that movie and have seen it several times. Josh came up this evening instead of this afternoon. Since I fixed boneless pork ribs, baked beans and corn on the cob he didn't come up. He doesn't like ribs. He's not my child because I frigging love ribs. I cut up hot dogs into the left over baked beans and he ate beanie weenies, bbq potato chips and a cherry coke and was in 7th heaven. Terry bought some Blue Bunny Sweet Freedoms chocolate ice cream. It is sugar free and reminds me of those chocolate malts from the freezer section with the little wooden spoons. I love it and will probably keep getting that kind of ice cream.

Worked some more on the afghan today, went outside and walked a little and figured out my telephone (not while I was walking). One thing about it, your children keep you young and on top of things, if it is music, technology or what's happening in their world. Both boys are really good about that but of course with my job too. It's a crazy world out there but if you try to keep up with it half way, it's not quite as crazy.

I am really glad that I have worked at my job as long as I have but sometimes I wish I would have gotten into a profession that isn't into the social work field. Horticulture, computer technology, or even something into the arts field. Have thought about after I retire to get into Horticulture Therapy. Another thing that I would love to do is crazier than crazy can be. I would like to buy an old general store. You know, like the ones that are in old dying towns, with the plate glass windows on both sides. I would like to make it a store that only has American Made products in it, nothing else. And if you don't have it I can order it for the customer. Have plants and a year long nursery too. Books and magazines with a place to sit in overstuffed chairs and drink special coffee's that are fresh brewed. Might not make alot of money but I think it would be fun. Oh well. Dreams are what keeps us alive.

Going to sign off. Gran Torino is almost over. He just did his confession and getting ready to go out and whoop some "zipper head's" arse.

As promised.

This is the baby blanket that I am working on. I'm almost done and when I finish I will post the finished product. I'm really proud of it and it is going to look outstanding.

Close up shot of it.

It's called Swedish Weaving but in the 70's and before they called it Huck Embroidery. The needle that I use is called a bodkin. I plan to finish up a couple other afghans that I have started because there are a few other babies in the mist, but of course what am I saying....there's always a baby in the mist!!! LOL.

Well, I said I would post some pics tonight so there you go. I've gotten quite a little bit done and hope to get more done tonight and tomorrow. I love weaving because it is a calming activity for me when I am stressed. Plus makes fabulous gifts to give away.

I was reading a little bit today in a book I bought on blogging and it said that your followers of blogs are special people. Facebook is instant and open for everyone to read that are your friends but your followers in blogs have to take time out of their days to actually open up your blog and read it. Sometimes this takes like 5-10 minutes out of their day. Maybe I need to make my subjects a little more interesting for you guys. LOL.

Didn't do much today but then when I think about it, I did quite a little bit. Last couple of mornings I have made oatmeal for breakfast and put frozen blueberries in and sprinkled the top with sweetener. Man it has been good. Ate all my blueberries today so will have to run to the store and get a bag. The one's I was using were fresh I had gotten last year and froze them. Love, love, love blueberries.

Josh and I went and got our new phones. We got the iPhone's and it is going to take me a little time but I will get the hang of it. Really do like it and it does a lot better than my last one. I had baptized it right after I got it a couple years ago. Terry told me to keep this one away from the bathroom. LOL. Thanks Terry!!!

I'm going to end this with some pictures I took today outside of my plants. I love that Spring time.

I am going to have to get out there and thin these puppies out and get the weeds out of them. I love iris's. Reminds me of Grandma Thompson's flowers when I was a little girl.

Also reminds me of Dimple Snyder's yard. Her husband and my daddy were first cousin and they lived across the creek from us. I spent A LOT of time over at Flay and Dimple's as a little girl. Such a sweet fragrance.

Roses are budded out to with a few blooms.

This pot of chives has been a part of my life for like 10 years. It is full of blooms also and I will post when it actually blooms. So beautiful and yes, that is poison ivy spilling out the side. I have tried pulling it and can't get the roots. Plant is to big to pour out and separate the roots so I can get the entire poison ivy plant out.

Planted 4 Hostas last year under the oak tree in the front yard. 2 made it and 2 didn't. This one really fared well.

The other survivor.

Bless their hearts. I have big plans and hopefully can get them done this year or at least started. Love my plants, can't wait to take my inside one's outside. Gotta wait until Mother's Day though.

Didn't make supper tonight, we went out to eat and had our Grilled Tenderloins at Donna's Diner. Was going to cook ribs but think I will stick them in the crock pot for tomorrow and maybe stick a tenderloin in their too. Not sure but will let you guys know.

Well, this is all I'm posting tonight. I will talk to you guys tomorrow.

Just Gits and Shiggles.

Day was good. Got everything done that we headed out to do. Wasn't bad at all. It started out being a cooler day but storms are all around us this evening and it got humid. The weatherman says nothing really to worry about until tomorrow so guess I won't worry. We got rain and such last night. It woke me up a couple of times.

Royals home opener and we lost. :o( Terry was belly up to the bar when it started but I didn't get here until the last half. He said the Indians hit 7 runs the first inning and one of the hits was a freak of nature. The batter for Cleveland, Shelley Duncan, dodged so the ball wouldn't hit him and it hit the bat instead. Going straight down the line past first base, it was a fair ball. LOL. Why can't that ever happen to us. Glad baseball is in full swing. Love the game.

Made Tater Tot Casserole tonight. I think it's the first time I've ever made it, anyway I can't remember ever making it before. It was pretty dang good, Josh came by to eat too. I took a pound of hamburger, 1/4 cup onion, can cream mushroom soup and 4 cups tater tots. Browned the hamburger and onion. drained it putting it in a casserole dish. Poured the can of cream of mushroom soup over the top and then put the tater tots on the top. Baked at 350* for 45 minutes. Pretty good but next time I'm going to put corn or green beans in it too. I like veggies in my casseroles.

Went out and checked on the flower beds. Iris's are reading to bloom anytime and the rose bush is full of buds with one in full bloom!!! I will take pictures tomorrow.

Tomorrow is another day with new and different things involved. Will write more and maybe earlier. I plan to read tonight and work on my weaving some more. I need to get it done by the first part of May. I have another class to do a different baby blanket and can't wait. It will be into May though that I do that. I will take picture of what I've done so far. I have two others to finish and then a big afghan to finish too. I plan to get them all done this year and do some dish towels also. I know, I know....pictures. I plan to give them for Christmas presents.

Talk to you guys later.

Subway

This is going to be a short one. I am tired and not much into writing tonight. I took tomorrow off because I have a few things I have to take care of so I drove home this evening. got home this evening around 7:30 and by that time I didn't want to do anything but veg.

Stopped in Collins on the way home and grabbed a Subway sub. Don't know why I love that restaurant so much but I do. Terry had already ate too so no supper was cooked.

Well, signing off. I'll try and write more tomorrow. I have been reading on blogging and they all say I should reply to all comments so have been replying to John and Paula's comments. They also said that you should always write something and if you aren't going to be on you should write something to let your fans know. LOL. Fan's!!!

I don't know about you guys but I love seeing what new puppy dog is on the puppy banner next to the blogs, plus since I put the counter on, I gots me a lot of lurkers. I know a few because they comment or hit like on my Facebook post of this blog. I'll talk to you guys later.

Interesting, Very, Very Interesting.

Well, day was pretty good, could have been better but could have been 100 times worse. Went to Mt. Vernon this morning to meet with my supervisor. Then headed back to the office. Debbie, my friend had made lunch for us. Roast, potatoes and carrots. I did good and ate good today. Didn't overload like I have a tendancy of doing.

A friend of mine from the Independence office is in our office right now helping to train the new clerical person that they have down here. Jan and I walked to get some hot tea and had a nice visit. Jan is a neat, neat woman. She is a fellow animal lover and plant lover. Can't hate her for that!!! LOL. Plus she makes the best hummus in the whole wide world. I don't know why I love that stuff but I do. Especially if it's made good and she is one that can do that!!!

Came home tonight and fixed supper. Brandon said that he wasn't going to make it home until around 7 so I had it ready when he walked in the door. We watched that new Betty White show. Can't think of the name but it is with old people. It was hilarious. Was to short because it was over before we knew it.

Oh, better post what we had. I fixed cube steak smothered in cream of mushroom soup, mashed potatoes and green beans with sweet tea. I thought I had corn in the cabinet but no. I had bought a bunch of vegetables yesterday at the grocery store so I cleaned them and put them in containers. While I was cleaning them I ate quite a few. As I mentioned yesterday I am trying to cut down on my intake so I got a small plate and cut one of the cube steaks in half, little bit of potatoes and green beans along with a handful of grape tomatoes. I ate it and was like, what the hey. I'm going to eat the other half so I did. I may be in trouble but oh well. Brandon kept thinking that I had already ate but I hadn't. He's like, did you get enough to eat and I was like YES!!!

I always have my camera in my purse for pictures and I am like, why don't I take pictures??? We don't know. So anyway yesterday i took a few and today I had Debbie take one of me. Anyway, here they are!!!

This is my buddy Debbie. She is our clerical support.

Hey Debbie, I learned how to make a self portrait

My co-worker Laura. Don't know what I would do without her. She is awesome

Richard, he gives me a hard time always and I never dish it back and am so undeserving of his hard time. He says the picture with my mouth open is a natural.

Come on Debbie just take the picture. I don't know why it's moving around, it's never did that to me before. RICHARD, come take my picture for me please!!!

I hate your camera!!!

Thank you Richard, it doesn't matter that it isn't centered. Richard says why the camera was moving all over the place with Debbie is because she has been drinking.

Oh and before I forget it. I am re-posting this from a friend from Facebook. He is a real astronomy, rock, comic book collector geek but does know what he is talking about and is real interesting to talk to about that kind of stuff.

"Re-posting from a friend of mine: The International Space Station will pass over the KC area Tonight: (April 11). It will appear as a very bright "star" moving across the sky from southwest to northeast. Start looking to the southwest around 8:55 pm exactly. It will pass nearly overhead here in the Kansas City area at 8:58 pm. Don't get it confused with Venus which is the bright planet high in the west. Venus will stay still. Venus will be brighter but not by much. Check it out if you can spare a minute or two. You don't need a telescope. Everyone around the Midwest can see it around the same time."

Enjoy and talk to you later.

Love em or Hate em

Well, for those of you that enjoy my posting on what I fixed for supper and were upset I didn't post anything last night, I didn't fix anything last night. I had left the house in Harrisonville around 10:30am to make it to Jefferson City by 2:00pm. Had to stop and get gas and knew that I would need to stop in Sedalia to stretch my legs. When I left Harrisonville I stopped off at Casey's (a convience store in the MidWest), filled my car and went in to get a sandwich to eat along with some chips and a huge bottle water. I ate that up, can't say it was delish but it was nutrition. Then when I left Jeff City around 3 I ran by McDonalds and got the 2 Hamburgers, order fries and a unsweet tea. Hadn't had that meal in a while and it is my favorite McD's meal beside the fish sandwich. Love that puppy too. As I was driving home I stopped at Sonic and got me a M&M blast. Another one of my favorites so by the time I got home at 6 I wasn't hungry. Of course Brandon calls and asks me if I was going to fix anythng and I told him no so the poor mistreated soul came home and warmed up a can of Van Camp's beenie weenies. God I love those things but didn't eat any. He had a couple other cans in the cabinet. LOL.

Tonight was a different story though. I ran to the store and picked up some fresh salmon out of the meat case and we had fresh salmon sauteed in olive oil with garlic salt, pepper and Cavendeer's All Purpose Greek Seasoning. Seared 5 minutes over a medium heat per each side. It was so frigging delish. We also had baked potatoes. I had butter on mine but Brandon put butter, bacon bits and shredded mozarella cheese on his. Yummy, yum, yum. I had green onions we could have put on it too but he doesn't like onions so there ya go. And for a vegetable we had green beans. Fresh green grapes for fruit and they are so good and sweet. I had a banana also while I was cooking. I was so hungry.

Tomorrow I am going to cook cube steak, probably in the crock pot, with cream of mushroom soup and mashed potatoes. I don't know, probably corn. I may just make me a big salad because I got all kinds of salad stuff at the store. I also bought a cabbage and may make my vegetable soup with cabbage, tomatoes, corn, green beans, and anything else I can find to put in it. I have several vegetables laying around and love vegetable soup. I am sure Brandon doesn't but that is okay. I can freeze it and have it for lunch sometimes.

Drinking a great big glass of water tonight too. Can you tell I am trying to eat right. We'll see how it goes but so far so good. I saw where the fitness center here at the apartments opens at 530 but I don't know. I wake up around 515 in the morning but am usually so lazy I don't even want to get up. I have got to do something though.

Well, I've gotten myself in a little slump lately and not sure how to get out of it but have got to. It'll be fine, I will get over it but seems like there is so much sad stuff going on around me, making me sad. Plus I am tired right now of working and such. I do have 3 years and 5 months if I want and can retire from the state and go do something fun. We'll see though. Maybe fly kites, or grow plants, or just enjoy my husband and my life. All that sounds good to me.

Going off here. Nothing to crazy happening except the other day I did see an older man, maybe my age or older, riding a bicycle down the street with a motorcycle helmet on. LOL. Only in Springfield and only on Commercial Street. Lot's happening on that street because that is where they have the Missouri Hotel where they put the homeless families. The Kitchen is the name of the organization that makes all that possible and is a wonderful organization. That is another place I will give my money and not feel bad at all.

Good night everyone and love you all.

lOVE THEM OR HATE THEM. YOU CAN NEVER FORGET THE TROLL DOLLS!!!

April 8. 1990 22 years ago

On December 6, 1971, in Kokomo Indiana, a baby was born into this world that has changed the way we see this chronic infection now. He was only with us for 18 short years, April 8, 1990 in Indianapolis Indiana this courageous young man passed away with complication from AIDS. He was a hemophiliac and during a blood transfusion in 1984 he became infected with HIV from contaminated blood. He was diagnosed in December 1984 and Doctor's gave him six months to live. 5 years later and one month before his high school graduation he died, but not without becoming a poster child for HIV/AIDS in the United States. He appeared frequently in the media with celebrities such as Elton John, Michael Jackson and Phil Donahue.

What made this young man unlike any other person that was infected during this time. His battle as a child with society and a mother that was not going to let this injustice go un noticed. He not only was shunned by the town but was expelled from his middle school because of his infection, even after the doctors said he posed no risk to other students. Because of the ignorance about the infection many teachers and parents rallied agains him when he tried to return to school.

Pall bearers at his funeral included such famous people as Elton John, Howie Long and Phil Donahue. This young man drove a shiny red mustang convertable that Michael Jackson bought him. Elton John gave his mom money to buy a home in Cicero Indiana and when she paid him back he put it into Ryan's little sister's college fund.

The U.S. Congress passed a major piece of AIDS legislation, the Ryan White Care Act, shortly after White's death. The Act has been reauthorized twice; Ryan White Programs are the largest provider of services for people living with HIV/AIDS in the United States.

I highly recommend that you read up on this amazing young man and if you ever get a chance go listen to his mother speak. She still speaks on HIV/AIDS awareness. To start with go to Wikipedia. Interesting stuff there.

With that all said, I am going to bed. This young man is someone I read up on when I first started this job. His story is one to never forget.

It's not about the Bunny!!!

Easter is almost coming to an end. Terry went to church with me, Josh over slept. Imagine that!!! Gotta love the kid, he did make it for lunch though. We cooked chicken leg quarters and pork steaks on the grill, then I made scalloped potatoes, green beans seasoned with ham and onions and deviled eggs. Not really the traditional Easter dinner but it worked. I got a little melancholy this afternoon thinking about the Easter's in the past when my mom was alive along with my brother and brother-in-law. We had some fabulous Easter's. I love the time we had to hide the eggs in the house at my sister's and 4 months later she found a hard boiled colored egg in the cushions of her couch. LOL. Maybe we can get together here soon for a picnic or something at the park. We really need to get together more. Josh was a little bummed too that we didn't get together. Oh well, like someone told me once, you will have to make it happen Glenda.

Terry has been in hog heaven today. The Royals played today and won the season opener but of course we had to switch between the game and the Masters. Billy Butler and Hosmer both hit out of the park home runs which made it exciting but the Masters, a guy shot over 260 yard Double Eagle. For those of you that do not have a clue to what that means he shot from that far and made a hole in one. It was totally amazing!!! Now we are watching a concert with Ringo Starr. If anyone knows Terry they know that he LOVES the Beatles and has just about every memorabilia that is out. Maybe not all but a bunch of it. Anyway he's had a good day too.

Gotta say Lamar's picture was pretty good last night but I do have to give the other two children equal time on here...Tux and Pouncer. Took a couple of pics of them today. Our animals are a mess. Also got a picture of Josh and Lamar taking a nap this afternoon after lunch. Sleepy tired.

Pouncer aka "Pouncer the Bouncer"

Tux aka "Tuxy Luxy"

Josh and Lamar aka "Josh and Lamar"

Talk to you guys tomorrow. Happy Easter and remember....It's not about the bunny!!!

Saturday, April 7, 2012

Well, had a really nice day even though my right leg and foot is killing me!!! I sit here wishing I had of listened to mom when she'd tell me to take care of my body because at sometime in your life it is going to pay you back. Temperature and barometric pressure fluctuates and so does my aches and pains from previous injuries. Of course I was pretty tough on this old body in the day and try hard to take better care of it now. I bought some Tylenol arthritis and it didn't really help. Guess it's not really arthritis or that I need something stronger. Okay, done complaining. I just praise God I'm not crippled up with it like some are so go on with life and say so be it.

Had a good day like I said. Ran and did a little shopping by myself. I do so much better that way sometimes. I am looking for a light weight black blazer and didn't realize how hard that is. Oh well. I did pick up an adorable crocheted blazer. I just love the crocheted jackets and vest they have out now. Wish I could afford everyone I see that I love. That and hats and accessories are my down fall.

Terry and Josh told me that they are going to go to church with me tomorrow. At least I can get them there on Easter, if no other day of the year. I could probably get them more if I would hassel them into it but I don't work like that. I gave Brandon a hard time about it earlier but I'm not going to ride him hard on it either. I am sure Martha, his other family, has tried also. Everytime he gives me a hard time about something I tease him telling him I am going to tell Martha. He's like, no don't. It's funny.

When I walked out of Wal-Mart today there were two tents set up outside the doors. Not in front of the doors but to the side. B.A.C.A. donations. Anyone that doesn't know what that is it is Bikers Against Child Abuse. A wonderful organizations and one of those that I have not a problem donating too. It is one of the charities I believe in 100%. They handed out information about their organizations and this one was called the Osage Valley Chapter out of Butler MO. Some of the Stats that they handed out was 1 in every 3 girls will be sexually molested before the age of 18 and 1 in every 6 boys the same. Every 10 seconds a child is abused, raped, or killed in the US. 80% of the prepetrators are parents and 71% of child sex offenders are under the age of 35. The typical child sex offender molests an average of 117 children. My heart just cries for these young lives.

I posted in a blog awhile back about a place in the Ozarks where I went to talk to these 13-17 year old girls at a court appointed facility about STDs and one little timid girl, probably around 13 asks, "If my dad has an STD does that mean I can get it too?" She was serious and there wasn't a snicker one in the room, these children had been sexually molested at least once in their young lives.

My prayers are that these politicians that do not have a clue what it is like in our world to have SOMETHING to touch their hearts and make them realize what is actually happening in the world. And it's not just the poverty stricken community that this is happening to. Rick Santorum scares the hell out of me.

Tomorrow is Easter and I pray that everyone makes an effort to go to church. I've been taking pictures with my camera the last couple of days, hope you enjoy my pic. Lamar is a mess.
