This is a blog about my every day life. My dreams, my hopes and my past. The things in my life that makes me the person I am today. What makes me happy, sad and excited. This is it. If I say something that offends you, sorry. Start your own blog and say what you want, that's what I did.
My Family
This is my family minus Jeremy. He lives in California. As my son Joshua (the one in camo) said, "Aren't we a good looking bunch"!!! Yes we are!!!
Am really tired tonight. Two days on the road, drove a little over 500 miles, wears this old girl out. Got to the apartment and the boys and I went out to eat. There's this sub shop downtown called Pickleman's. They have the best subs around. Josh loved it and it is Brandon's favorite. Not bad but you know what I'm going to complain about. Carbs!!! Was in Jefferson City today and ate at Rio's. I have another favorite besides the fried chicken, their hamburger pizza is to die for. I don't know what it is about it but it is the best. It is now my favorite. My friend Penny told me about it and I had already stumbled across it. Yummy, yum, yum.
When we were heading home from Pickleman's there is a huge, beautiful full moon out. I guess tomorrow night is suppose to be the blue moon. Some pretty crazy stuff has been happening and I haven't been surprised with all that is happening right now. Crazy is as crazy does.
Going to head off here. Was going to write a lot more earlier and got side tracked with two boys in the house. They keep you laughing and entertained. Everything from blowing up an air mattress to speaking Mandarin while skipping in the house. They are watching some funny movie right now. Anyway, I am getting off here. I will talk to you tomorrow, hopefully.
Was in Rolla today at the County Health Department. It is a nice Health Department and today was WIC day, there were lots of babies. So many fat, healthy and happy babies. Because of programs like this, along with immunizations, planned parenthood, STD testing and treating, our country would be in a worse shape then what it is in now. The nurses at the health department go to the homes and make sure that TB meds are taken by the clients. They interview when there is an outbreak of E Coli, Salmonella and any other communicable disease. When there is a Meth Lab explosion, someone goes out and investigates those to make sure the clean up is done correctly, they report to the truck wrecks where there is food that has been damaged. The list goes on and on. I can't even begin to name everything that they do. These people are the true foot soldiers for the communities and that is where the funding is being cut, they are the ones that are hurt the worse. When are we going to realize the importance of these entities? People, you need to become involved in your communities and find out what is going on in these businesses. We need the Local Public Health Departments like you wouldn't believe.
My day was good though. We got a lot accomplished at our meeting and will meet again next month. Hopefully we are about done but who knows what is in store. Things change like you wouldn't believe but it isn't any different than any other job.
Tomorrow it is off to Jefferson City. I will be back in the office on Friday which is good because I got hit pretty hard yesterday with work. 4 new HIV cases, two in their early 60's and one in his early 70's. Other one is in his 20's. Can we say, "Love erectile dysfunction drugs!!" NOT!!!
Well, getting off here. Think I will do some reading once I am off. Haven't done that this week, just went straight to bed. I was so tired last night. Got a good nights sleep though and woke up feeling pretty good. I will talk with you guys more tomorrow. My Josh and Brandon are going to be down here. Then Terry later with Lamar. Can't wait!!! Good night.
Been thinking today. I think I will make me out a "Bucket List". Things I've wanted to do and never have. This should be interesting. What brought this on you ask??? I was looking at Facebook tonight and there was a post about the Missouri Botanical Garden's in St. Louis. I was like, I've always wanted to go to that and have always wanted to go to Powell Garden's which isn't far from where I live. Then I was like, why don't you make out a Bucket List and write down everything you want to do and have never done. Alrighty then, I will.
I came home tonight so tired I just sat down in my chair, ate a can of beanie weenie's and an oatmeal pie from Little Debbie. Never turned on the TV or anything. I probably will at 9:30 to hear the weather but will turn it off after that. I had a rough day and don't really want to hear negative stuff. Hurricane is coming into the Gulf though sounds like from last nights cast. We sure need the rain and sounds like it is going to get here in Springfield area around Friday. Hmm. Will put a damper on Labor Day weekend plans but that's okay too. We need the rain!!! Bring it on!!!
Today, when I got in my car after telling a young man he was HIV+ and he cried, I was was like how in the world can people say what they say about this population??? God does not hate these people and it is Satan making them spill these words out. I was so mad, not at God but at the people, and told God that I cannot believe He will ever turn his back on these people, as long as they allow Him to be in their hearts. He takes the bad and terrible things in our world and turns them into beautiful positive things. Must be why I am here on this earth because I will always have compassion for people. No matter what life has put them through. God is good.
Well, with that little tid bit said, I think I will close this out. I have a long next couple of days down here. Have to be in Rolla tomorrow and Jefferson City the following day. Talk to you guys tomorrow night, hopefully.
Okay, I am going to have to get me a tape recorder or something because through out the day I am like, I'm going to write that in my blog and then when I sit here to write, can I think what the heck it was or have the passion I had at the time. Not no but heck no. Oh well, going to have to wing it the best I can until I get the recorder or whatever.
Day went fairly well, after last night anyway. Josh called me and he hit a cow. He was coming home and didn't see the cow on a gravel road and hit it. Josh is okay, truck not so much. I was thankful that Josh was okay, he hadn't been drinking, he was legal with insurance and truck tags and he wasn't speeding. Of course the cow isn't doing so good. They had to shoot her. I tell everyone that Josh had a wreck with one fatality, the cow. Just waiting on the police report and the people to get the insurance stuff going on. Everything is a deal. Told Josh if it wasn't for bad luck he'd have no luck at all.
As I was coming down here I plugged in Pandora Radio again and put in Carole King radio. Excellent music. My era, my genre and my music. There are a lot of good stations and depending on the mood I am in is what I listen to.
Getting ready for the family Vacay. Getting a schedule planned out, it should all be good. So nervous about Brandon leaving and will be glad when it happens so we can just wait for him to get home. Will have to plan a fantastic family Vacay when he gets back. Love those annual events. Guess we are always going to have to make them the same time because seems like they are always at the same time. Even though this is only our second one.
You know when I am coming down to Springfield I go through towns with so many memories. I have either lived in, worked in, celebrated something in, or attended events in. When I go through them the memories flood and sometimes I wish they wouldn't. Sometimes they are not such good memories and then other times they are. Oh well. It is what it is. I mean Garden City, Creighton, Urich, Harper, Clinton, Deepwater, Chloe, Lowry City, Osceola, Vista, Gerster, Collins, Humansville, Bolivar. All those towns have memories. When you have lived in the area all your life and grew up in most of the area and had an eventful life as I have, there ya go.
Put on your calendars and try to attend. Lowry City is having their second annual Music on Mainstreet event. It should be great. Lots of music from 10am-10pm. Bluegrass, Country, and anything else you can think of and it's all free. Just bring a lawn chair. Lots of food booths too. I plan to be there, it's on September 15. I didn't go last year and regret it. Like I said, it should be fun.
Talk to you guys tomorrow. Remember, no matter what I love ya all!!!
Started the day out going to church. Talked to them about Sunday school and the preacher is starting a 4 week series about the church after Labor Day. I am going to go to those classes and then in October the women's group is starting a new study. Excited about all that. I forgot to make sure that the classes that the preacher is doing is on Sunday's because I won't be able to do them. It will all work, always does.
We had a good rain down around here today and yesterday. Not sure how much we had but was down at Lowry today and my cousin said they've gotten around 1-1/2". Terry said we haven't gotten that much here, maybe 1/2". It has been nice getting some showers though. The hurricane that is hitting the Florida Keys right now may come up the Gulf Coast and we usually get the rains from that. Hope, hope, hope. They say they've closed down part of the Mississippi because it is low that the barges can't make it down. Something like a 50 mile stretch. That's something else.
Josh and I took a road trip today to Lowry City and saw a cousin of ours. It was fun, I really like George and Linda Lysinger. Good people. Linda always has lots of plants and grows a beautiful garden. She had one plant I had never seen before. I asked her what kind it was and she said Candlestick. It was so pretty. She is going to get me a start going. Can't wait, love my plants.
Josh and I came home and then Terry and I ran out to Wal-Mart to pick up a bed set for the day bed in the middle bedroom. Brandon will be home sometime this week so he can see his mom before he leaves for China. Then we will go on a little family Vacay as Josh and him call it. LOL.
Going to sign off here. My day was good, still feel funny but all is good. I will talk to you guys later.

Started the day out going to Lee's Summit and going door to door asking if they were registered to vote at their current residence and if not did they want to register. It was fun, at first we both were like, ohhhh we don't want to do this. We had a low income housing unit to work. There were like 10 apartment buildings with 8 apartments in each unit. It was mostly single moms, college students, double working families that probably make minimum wage income with a family. Terry was able to sign up three and I signed up one. One apartment I went to I asked the lady if she was registered to vote and she said yes. As she was shutting the door the little girl goes "No your not mama!!!" I had to laugh, the little girl probably got in trouble once mama closed the door.
We've gotten some rain but the ground isn't even wet so that tells you how much. I so wish we would get some. Like I've said before, if it would just be a slow steady rain for about 4 days. The fires are bad around here because of the dryness. I hate it.
Don't know if it is just me but lately when I start writing in this blog I start nodding off. As bad as when I try to stay up to see the 10pm news. LOL
Just got back from Garden City MO and ate at Old Cedar Inn. All the fried chicken you can eat, choice of potato, vegetable, salad bar, dessert bar for $8.75 and let me tell you, it was delicious. They make the best fried chicken around. Only one place that I like better and that is Ria's in Jefferson City. Ria's is more your pan fried chicken to where Old Cedar, they have a special fryer that fries the chicken. Their chicken strips are good too.
Anyway, they had bread pudding along with the ice cream machine where you can make a ice cream sundae if you want. The bread pudding was to die for. The best I've had. I really am a bread pudding connoisseur along with custard pie. I love both of them and haven't been able to find any as good as Dimple Snyder's. She lived across the creek from us when I was a little girl and her custard pie's were to die for!!!
Needless to say, I blew it on my carb's today. Did good until I got to Rich Hill MO. I was coming home and had to go to the restroom. A friend/co-worker had told me about a mom and pop dairy queen in Rich Hill called Swopes Drive-In that has the best Suzy Q's and milk shakes. Needed to go to the restroom and figured it would be nice and clean there and it was. Well, you don't go to the restroom somewhere and not buy something so I bought a small Raspberry Shake. Oh my gosh, it was to die for too. Excellent, outstanding and all those other powerful words!!! Told Terry that we need to go sometime down there on one of our rides.
Woke up this morning with a big honking cold sore in my life, smack dab in the middle of my upper lip, right under my nose. I haven't had one for quite sometime and really hadn't missed the inconvenience of it, let alone the soreness it creates. Oh well, could be worse. Could be the other Herpes Simplex. Glad I don't have that one, this one is bad enough.
Trying to stay positive and not let the news media bum me out and also try not to get wound up within their drama. It can over take you if you let it and I'm not going to let it. Between the Civil War over in Syria and the execution of the medical personal that are trying to help the injured or Akins dumb ass remarks. I will stay educated on all of it but that is all. Anyway, I'm signing off. Hoping we get the rain that the weather men are talking about for tomorrow. They say 100% chance but not where or how much. We'll see. Talk to you guys tomorrow.
