If Ya Need a Little Lovin' Call On Me!!!

So tired today and am not sure why. A lot of it has to do with work, I am sure. I am trying to get caught up but sometimes it is overwhelming. Plus you can only do what you can do. No matter how much grief you receive, I am doing the best I can. Just have to pray hard on all that is dealt my way.

Today I met a man that had been exposed to HIV. His partner lived in another part of the US and had contacted him, letting him know he had been exposed. This gentleman was in his 40's and had a thick Mexican accent but spoke English. We visited for quite sometime while we were waiting for his results. We have a test kit that you can get your results in 20 minutes. After visiting with him for a while I thought he was going to be positive but was so relieved it was negative. I hate nothing more than to tell them they are positive. His last encounter with his mate was in February. I informed him that he will need to get another test in 3-6 months just to make sure but right now everything looks good. When I have someone I visit with them and educate them. I also bring the conversation to where they are at the moment we are talking. It was a little difficult to understand him at times but I could carry a conversation with him. There were times I'd have to ask him to repeat but I did get the best out of it. I was giving him some telephone numbers for some resources and he thanked me, telling me "You are a very nice lady." I thanked him and told him that my job is to help people, not make them feel bad about something we all are guilty of. He told me "You do good job helping, you are nice." We shook hands and he left.

I wish I didn't have to mess with the rest of the aspects of my job, just this part of it. Well, I'm not going to get on that bandwagon. I need to find something else to rant and rave about.

I am going to work on happy things to talk about for right now. No more things that make me a raving maniac!!! We all know I want to retire, want to lose weight, want to save the world and want gas prices to lower. This morning walking into work I said hi to the maintenance man. Told him I never thought I'd find the day that 98* was a good day and 3.19 a gallon was a good price for gas. He laughed and said he heard that.

Well, I'm going to sign off of here. Heard this song tonight and enjoyed it, thought I'd share it with you as I have shared it with my Facebook friends. I know not everyone appreciates this kind of music but I do, so there ya go. Hope it plays okay for you

Another Sad, Sad Day!!!

I was just thinking. I am trying to take my vitamins to help with my well being and it is so hard to take any kind of pill. Always has been, when I was a little girl my mom would wrap it in bread, use apple sauce and any other way she could think of so I would swallow the medicine. Always gagged and threw up when I would take them. Anyway, the last few nights I have been having trouble swallowing my pills. Tonight I was like I can't take my vitamins but did take my other prescriptions. I was wondering, do you think I am still getting the benefit of the vitamins if I don't take them every night. I took them last night, maybe if I tell you what I take, I take a one a day vitamin (Centrium) two fish oil pills and one Vitamin D pill. I should split them out throughout the day but am not real good with that because I forget to take them. Sometimes I remember but not always. Oh well, I'll figure something out.

Another mass shooting of innocent children and people. All they were doing were having services at their temple. One of my bosses since I have worked at the State, her and her husband are Sikh. Yes, once in a while she would do things that didn't make sense to me but as far as being a bad person, she wasn't. I really liked her as a person and also her husband. Her name was Sat Inder Khalsa and her husband's name was Karta Purke.

An article I was reading about the event was very interesting. "How can one even think of attacking a religion who's solely based on peace and unity. Sikhs have never done harm to any other religion or nation. Wherever they go, they become a part of that nation and help to build it stronger. The six year old girl who got shot yesterday, was she a terrorist? or did she look dangerous to anyone out there? What is this world coming to? It has become so easy for any moron to just walk into a temple and start killing people? Is there no value left for the life of a human being?" Then someone commented on it going " Just because you feel uncomfortable or feel threatened by another's religion, it doesn't give you the right to kill them!" I agree with this at so many levels. Another thing I was telling a friend of mine today, do you notice that all these mass killings that happen are always white men with mental issues. Let's take away funding for health care and see what happens to our society. Maya Angelo says it best.

I don't know, I am getting tired hearing all about this stuff on TV, let alone all the politician hot air. Tell me what you are going to do, not what everyone else is not doing. I don't care.

Well, heading out of here. Bed is calling my name. Tomorrow is another day and I am going to make the best of each of my days here on this earth. If I can make a difference in one person's life a day I will be happy. Just smile and say hi to someone on the street can make their day. Peace, love and tranquility to each of you!!!

Guitarded

Tried another new church today. There is a Methodist Church next door to us and I have been meaning to try it out and never have. Just because taking that first step is always the hardest. I went this morning and really enjoyed the service. It was Communion Sunday, they were having a Baptism and also someone was joining the church. It was a busy Sunday for them but I enjoyed it. Wasn't a huge congregation but they have two services. I went to the 10:45 service, can't miss my favorite show, "Sunday Morning".

There was this little boy that looked to be around 4, sitting with his parents and grandma's at the church. The Worship Team band were playing a song that was a rock song and there was a lot of electric guitar. This little guy had been fidgeting most of the morning but the minute this song started he jumps into the aisle and starts jamming on an air guitar. The dance moves while he was playing that air guitar great. He eventually got bored with that and saw a buddy of his sitting close to where his parents were sitting and he went over to be with him. This little guy reminded me of Josh when he was that age.

Communion time at church always reminds me of a time that Josh was probably around the same age as the air guitar little boy. He was fidgeting around and making noise and we were getting ready to take communion, Josh stops all of a sudden and sits straight up at the edge of his seat. He looks over at me and goes, "Are you hungry?" I said no, not really. He goes, "Snacks are coming." He had been going to daycare his entire life and he knew all about snacks.

Terry and I were alone today. Josh was still gone to his float trip with his friends and who knows when Brandon is coming home so Terry decided to take me out to eat so I wouldn't have to cook. We couldn't decide where to go so went to Ruby Tuesday. It was pretty good, then we came home and haven't done a thing all day. Josh came home and he's been here all afternoon. Slow news day and just getting ready to go back to Springfield tomorrow.

Well, that's about it. I will talk to you tomorrow sometime. After I get to Springfield anyway.

Repent your sins and don't worry about mine.

Well, it was a full day. Went furniture shopping and bought a recliner for Terry. His is pretty beat up and in bad shape. Won't even recline. They'll be delivering it on Friday so we are pretty excited about getting it. Terry told me to try it out here in the store and I told him it would probably be the only time I'll be able to sit in it and he laughed, said probably so. Patsey ran by before we left and we went to pick her a recliner she'd gotten off Craigslist. The lady we went to was a lovely person, God puts people in our lives for a reason.

I did it today. I am playing around on making a web page. We'll see how it all goes. Still dinking around with it but think I'll like it. Once I get pretty confident I will probably move my blog but we will see. I will be able to do so much more with it I believe.

You know, I don't know why people feel they need to change my views and feelings when it is not their position to do so. I am not going to change the way I feel about someone just because you don't like them. Whether they are gay, homeless, unemployed, drug addicts, prisoners. It doesn't matter, I am going to treat everyone the way I want to be treated. I will follow the Ten Commandments and also the Golden Rule. Period. On Facebook there has been quite a controversy going on my page because I feel what the CEO of Chick A Lick did was wrong and turned more people away from God instead of bringing the lost to God. I feel Mr. Cathy did this for a business move and that is all it was. Oh well, I don't plan to change your mind and don't try to change mine. Your sin is no worse than any other sin. Sin is sin and we will all have to answer to it when the big day comes.

I'm tired. Lamar got me up early because he had to go to the bathroom and then I couldn't go back to sleep. Going to bed. Don't hate me for how I think and I won't hate you. Just don't tell me I need to repent my sins. I had someone continually call my land line number and play that recording to me. Several times a day because I was living with a man that wasn't my husband. When this is between the individual and God. Period. Well, good night.

Don't be scared.

It's good to be home. I've said that before, haven't I? Suppose to rain tonight and that's good. We can use as much water as we can get. I was in the southern section of MO yesterday and the Lake of the Ozarks is so low. Something crazy. Everything is suffering so from the drought we are having here. I posted this on Facebook in regard's to the tree's and there dropping of their leaves now. "As I have been traveling through out MO I have noticed leaves dropping from shade tree's and tree's in forests that are dying. I have to admit, being a plant lover this has concerned me. Today I picked up a flyer that the Missouri Department of Conservation had sitting out. According to this flyer "Symptoms of water stress include leaf droop and the eventual drying and scorching of leaves, resu lting in tree canopies turning brown." A Forestry Supervisor Nick Kuhn said, "Some trees are dropping leaves to reduce water usage. That doesn't mean they are dying, but it does mean they are thirsty and they may have gone dormant. Some species will regrow leaves if watered or if rains return." He advised people to water and mulch their trees to help them through the drought. I then went to their website and read more. Interesting."

My husband is in Lee's Summit tonight at a free Jazz concert registering people to vote. I should have went but I am fried. This week was brutal. No matter what I did this week it was wrong. If I'd said the sun shines at noon today they would have told me no, it was the moon. Nothing and I mean nothing was right. Glad that's over, guess I'll endure next week when it comes around

Love this show and love this song. Good night all.

It's a new look

Decided to change the looks of my blog a little. Got tired of the sunflowers. Not sure I like this or not but it will do for tonight. I'm a little bummed. Not sure if it is because I have been messing around if it or if people dropped being followers because they didn't like what I posted. Anyway, I had like 6 followers and now am down to two. Of course I could have done something when I was changing all my stuff. I'm sure my sister in law wouldn't delete me. Hmmm. Going to have to check into it more and see what I did.

Today was an eventful day. Went into the hills of the Ozarks today. Taneyville was one place. Where Winter's Bone was filmed. Man, when you get off the beaten path you see some real hill folk. Got off this state road and went down this lane that was very, very rocky. A trailer sat on the side of a hill with two other trailers on the property too. Very poverty stricken. When I pulled up about 6 dogs come running up barking. They were small dogs, not Rott's but still, you are never sure. A lady that looked like she was straight out of Shepherd of the Hills comes out. First thing out of her mouth was "Who are you?" I told her and told her who I was looking for. It turns out it was her son. She started to tear up and said he'd left in October and last she heard he was in Springfield. Probably not but I felt so sorry for her. She was a concerned mama about her son. Even though I am sure he is involved in meth because the person that named him was tweeking when we talked to him. Annnddd, I don't like to stereotype but that is what is in these hills now. It's a different world in the Ozarks.

Needless to say, for a state the size of Missouri we have a vast array of cultures. The southern part of the state is nothing like the Eastern and Northern, let alone the Northwestern. Those three districts are as different as night and day. I am not sure which area I would rather have but since I have worked the Northwest and Southwest, I am content. I don't want the Southeast. That is another world within itself. If you have never been into the boothill of Missouri and worked public health, I recommend it. It's different too. Different world all together, just like St. Louis. I have never been into the Northeast and worked but one of these days I am sure. It will be a trip.

I read on a book today on blogging. Just to see if I could learn anything else. It said to be sure and read for grammar and punctuation errors. Grammar was never a strong suit for me so if I use to many run-on sentences, I am sorry. LOL. Anyway, guess I'm doing okay. Yet yelled at if I miss a posting and try not to. Have a few but had some good reasons.

Well, gonna sign off. Hope to talk to you guys tomorrow night.

Do we REALLY have it that bad???

As I set here, going through the day events in my head the main topic I can think about is Syria. If you listen to the news, read a news paper or just keep up on current events you have heard about this civil war going on.

I was fixing something to eat this evening and had the world news on. They were reporting about these rebels that were massacred outside of Damascus. According to Wikipedia (my all time favorite resource on the net) this ongoing internal armed conflict began on 15 March 2011 developing into a nationwide uprising, and a civil war in 2012. Public demonstrations have been happening, as part of the wider revolutionary wave of demonstrations and protests that have been occurring in the Arab world to force rulers from power. Syrian protesters have demanded the end to nearly five decades of Ba’ath Party rule, as well as the resignation of Bashar al-Assad.

Today Assad has urged his troops to "step up the fight". After this story was done, the station had a commercial and it was nothing but hate bashing with politics. It made me think about all the hate bashing that is in the USA today and how people think we have it so bad. I'm thinking move to a third world people in the middle of a Civil War and then let me hear how bad you have it.

I have met so many people within my career that have come from these other countries for refuge, to be safe and away from the craziness that is in the other world. My heart is soft for these people and their stories. It is so, so sad. Why do people have to hate so much. Why can't people see others in the eyes of Mother Teresa, or Nelson Mandela. These two individuals are a couple of my inspirations. Good people that loved mankind.

With that all said, I've been doing pretty good with my carbs this week without my favorite sabotager in the whole wide world here!!! :o) It's easier whenever he's not around except the other day he did make some killer scrambled eggs to lunch/breakfast. Guess I won't complain much about him. He's my favorite sabotager in the world though, wouldn't trade him for nothing!!! :o)

Well, I'm going to go run the dishwasher and just chill on the "net" for a while. Will talk to you guys tomorrow and remember to always. . .
